Fun race. I decided to wear the McLaren hat today.

Ferrari just pitted too early. Their stop cost them because everyone ahead of them after the stop got a cheap pit stop with the safety car. Typical Ferrari bad timing.

Had to watch the race after the fact. Some (mostly obvious) comments:

First, I want to thank Haas for making the last third of the race really fun. KMag's car failed at just the right time to force all the teams to improvise their strategy. Felt like kind of a weird VSC/SC period though.

McLaren's performance was very encouraging for the rest of the season. It would be great to see them consistently in the mix.

Did Zak say they went with hards because those were the only brand-new tires they had left? At the time it seemed like a terrible decision but the proof is in the result.

Williams finishing in front of both Ferraris.

I'm real happy for Albon and Williams. I believe out of all of the finishers, the two Ferraris lost the most places from start to finish. They continue to embarrass themselves.

Max and Lewis had used softs on. Really surprised Lewis pushed once then never tried again.

Mclaren screwed piastri by covering another dumb move by Ferrari.
Piastri was coasting behind Lando and had over a 5 sec gap to 4th when they pitted piastri too early.leclerc wasn't gaining either.

The car may be better but they still can't get maximum points when there for the taking.

Wasn't Piastri screwed by the full safety car?

Seems like they brought him in just before the full safety. Bad luck if so.

That is what I remember. Came in under VSC then it went full. Just bad timing.

The bad timing is a result of covering a car that was no threat.

I mean they had to pit at some point and a VSC is the time to do it. I find it hard to fault them for that.

The stills from the Pitt movie that have been released from today are pretty BA... Looking forward to seeing how well they do with this movie.

Piastri was in the pits lap 29 vsc was 33.
Russell pitted 1 lap earlier because he was on softs and failed to overcut leclerc.
Leclerc ended up stuck behind stroll and losing time.

Lewis was then 9 secs behind piastri while piastri was 2.2sec behind Lando in cruise control.

He had top 3 pace yet somehow mclaren felt forced to pit and it cost them.

When a haas is running always be prepared for a yellow flag scenario.

Everyone was pitting real soon. Those that waited for a caution got hella lucky today. Sometimes it works just right.

Yep and albon was their buffer.
Didn't need to move while Russell was behind albon and still running competitive lap times increasing the buffer.

Nothing lucky about max and Lando.

Seemed to me they panicked a bit after piastri gave up .4sec on lap 27 but he was bang on next lap.

Been super impressed with him so far.
Been building each practice to out qualify his practice form

Who would have believed piastri would have more q3 appearances than perez at this stage of the season.

That’s wild. Checo is in trouble. Who gets that seat next season? Yuki?

They aren't replacing the #2 in the drivers championship without someone much better in the wings.

It's hard to think Lando is just always unlucky. Seems like every time he has a great Quali, 1 lap later he's outside of the top 10.

I just never get the sense that he's nearly as good as he's thought to be.
This was 2 races ago.

Good race today. Glad Norris could hang on for second!

Also, it appears Williams is hitting a stride while HAAS is suckin’ mega gigantic donkey balls.

HUL drove well, come to think of it, and got unlucky with the front wing damage. But he was never going to beat out the two Ferraris and the Williams to finish in the points.

Did Sargeant get the upgrades?

There are a lot of drivers better than Perez to put in that seat.

Racey Spice and Darth Marko don't give a frick about Perez.
