Would be great to see a 4th team legit make strides this year to have a top four compete for constructors cup. I realize that is asking for a lot but could you imagine the pressure and excitement for each Grand Prix in that scenario. Hell three would be nice but four would be insane strategic moves
Edit: also happy for Bottas, dude showed his driving skill. Curious to see if he can deliver over an entire race in that car.

I would like to see F1 be more competitive like motogp. You honestly have no idea who will win each race. It could realistically be one of about 10-12 riders any time out
F1 will never be that competitive because it's a technology and money-based series. It has become too corporate. And despite the attempts at cost control, the rich teams will always find a way to maintain an advantage. Then there's Ferrari, who always get special treatment:

If you want to watch a race and truly believe that most of the field has a chance to win, watch IndyCar. The almost-spec car means that it is a driver's series where almost everyone has a chance to win.

but (Ferrari) an iconic F1 team that shouldn't be fighting for best of the rest.
While I couldn't agree more the one to really feel bad for is Williams. Over the last 25 years there have only been 4 or 5 seasons where Ferrari didn't win a race but in the last 18 years Williams has only won 2 races and they were a result of others' mistakes. Brazil 2004 when Ferrari and McLaren screwed up their pit strategy and Spain IIRC 2012 when Mercedes screwed up fueling Hamilton for qualy and he ran out of full for scrutineering.
McLaren has had a rough time too but not as bad and I hate them with a white hot passion so I couldn't care less if they never score another world championship point.
Both those teams lost a lot of their fanbase to Mercedes which I think is a shame but I understand losing is hard. It is fairly easy to siphon off English fans since they have so many teams based there and tend to always have drivers on the grid.

Was sad to see McLaren struggle so much today.
Was really hoping for a McLaren, RB, Ferrari shootout for the championship this year.

Useless trivia for the weekend. The last time Vettel was not in a GP Markus Winkelhock lead the 2007 European GP in a Spyker. It was his one and only race in F1 and I think the only time a Spyker ever lead a race. Vettel was promoted to race at Torro Rosso prior to next race (IIRC Hungary) after Scott Speed allegedly went ham on Tost and screamed at the team.

Yeah, Seb will be stuck at number 2 in most consecutive starts.
Hard to think anyone will catch him.

Ordered my Scuderia hat today. Will wear it with pride at the Spanish GP.

People are welcome to join me on the Williams bandwagon.

The thing I hate about Ferrari kit is I won't wear in the US unless it is some sort of F1 GTG or race. I'll wear kit from any other team on the grid now or in the past (except McLaren, did I mention I hate Macca?) but not Ferrari. People in the US don't recognize it as Scuderia kit like people in the rest of the world and they think you are either a massive prick who owns a Ferrari or a massive limp prick that doesn't. I normally don't care what people think of what I wear but given I am already a prick I don't need the massive magnifier a Ferrari team shirt or shirt applies to one.
I do want to get some new non-Uralkali Haas gear. I also hate Gulf sponsored McLaren because they are by far my favorite race livery colors. Did I mention I don't like McLaren? I should say I liked them more than most non-red teams up until 2007 but that all changed in the wink of a Zerox machine.

I’m in I really want to see Williams in the mix in the midfield.
Bottas out qualifying Russell was awesome. Should be a bigger story but #British
Somehow F1 TV has managed to make the cars look slower than ever. A stationary shot or 3 would be great.
Could this be the year young Mick is in the mix midpack?

I feel the same about F1 gear. Glad the sport became popular so it is a bit more acceptable these days

I gotta say, it's my favorite looking car under the lights at Bahrain. It looks good in the sun, too, but it just glows at night.

I live in Naples. Won’t wear the hats down here because people assume that’s what you drive. Same with my McLaren hat. I’m an Audi driver.

Yes, you have a few times in the last few posts. How bad did 1998 and 1999 hurt for you? You have to admit that Hakinnen is a likeable guy though and hard to hate.
On the flip side, 2007 Brazilian GP must have been a dream come true for you to see Raikkonen win the WDC in the last race with McLaren shooting themselves in the foot repeatedly with all the Alonso-Hamiton drama.
