I do want to get some new non-Uralkali Haas gear.
I'm hoping Haas picks up a nice big sponsor. Preferably a cool one. With the massive increase in US viewership along with the team being prominent on DTS, assuming that continues, and their increase in performance they should be able to. I'm sure Gene Haas would like that as well.
As long as they are not a laughingstock they have a massive ready made fanbase as the only American F1 team.
This past week I did some reading on the cost cap and Steiner was saying it would take a few years for things to really even out. Will never be 100% even as drivers, the top three employees and a few other things are not included in the cap, and those teams that already had a massive infrastructure still have it, but over time it will level out a bit.

Race day boys!
So what are we predicting based off of quali? I’ll have to watch via mobile and on the go
RB
Ferrari
Alpine
Merc
AT/AR/Haas (as long as the car doesn’t implode)

My post testing predictions were pretty bad, so I’d rather not embarrass myself again.
On the bright side, it’s race day! As Sir Lewis Hamilton-Larbalestier would say, wake your arse up!

Ferrari/RB/Ferrari podium.
Haas beats Merc for best of the rest.

I’m genuinely curious what Mercedes race pace will look like, especially in traffic. I really do think they’re going to struggle massively and their long run pace won’t be good.

Would be great to see BOT beat HAM

Yes, you have a few times in the last few posts. How bad did 1998 and 1999 hurt for you? You have to admit that Hakinnen is a likeable guy though and hard to hate.
On the flip side, 2007 Brazilian GP must have been a dream come true for you to see Raikkonen win the WDC in the last race with McLaren shooting themselves in the foot repeatedly with all the Alonso-Hamiton drama.
I am not 100% sure I mentioned it but I am not a fan of McLaren.
Seriously though I actually liked McLaren fine prior to Spygate and liked and still like Mika and Kimi. My wife's favorite team was always McLaren.
1998 and 1999 was at the end of the dark days for Ferrari and so 1998 hurt a little but the light was at the end of the tunnel. 1999 was fine since Ferrari won the WDC and I am primarily a team guy. Considering Eddie Irvine only lost to Mika by 2 points after Michael's 320 kpm accident at Stowe putting him out of the car long enough to put him out of the WDC I actually felt 1999 was a win.
2007 was indeed a dream come true since Kimi and Ferrari won and Kimi was and remains my wife's favorite driver. It is the only time since we have been together her favorite driver has won the WDC. 2008 was one of the most difficult WDC losses since Massa was such a great character and teammate. 2006 was worse since it was Michael's last race and I moved heaven and earth to be in Sao Paulo for his last race and championship win but his engine exploded while he was leading the Japanese GP and all but sealed his fate. He did put on a great show in Brazil though.
In the end, most of my McLaren hate is manufactured as I just like F1 in general and really respect Bruce and a lot of others that came and went through Woking through the years but Nigel Stepney and Mike Coughlan just put a stain on them for me.

I want to believe but I am not sure Perceval Leclerc has the car to hold Max off until the race settles down. The RB owns that first sector. I just hope it doesn't end in carbon fiber tears for both of them, especially in those first few turns they need to remember the marathon vs the sprint idea.

The current McLaren really doesn't resonate with me.
This is what I think of when I hear McLaren.

My hot take...LeClerc and Maxs bad blood leads to both taking each other out early...
Bottas takes a podium...
Haas scores at least 5 points..
It's the 1st race of the season, so lets dream a little

I promised Kevin that if he scores any points today, he’s allowed to smash as many fricking doors as he fricking wants!????
*Not the real Steiner.

Since Mclaren is in the shitter I’m hoping for drama and Hass points. Pumped F1 is back

I think we will see a fantastic race between Leclerc and Max. I don’t see Max driving as aggressive against Charles the way he does against Lewis, but I could be wrong. We will know in just over 60 min

If a Ferrari has to win I’m rooting for Carlos. A great driver and seems like a good dude. His wins are coming though

Let's go, baby. Another year, another big dose of false hop for The Marque.
