If Mick didn't have his last name he would be on the hot seat.

I would rather see Mick at Alfa over Haas though. I don't think Haas has the ability to deal with a new driver or develop a driver. They don't even have a simulator at this point.

Having said that, can we skip Monaco for future seasons? Or at least figure out a way to have DRS in the tunnel?

Track too short, only 2 miles, too narrow, it's always been difficult to pass, but the 18 inch tires now make it virtually impossible. The Loews tunnel is too short for DRS due to the marina chicane. They need to come up with a solution, or the race devolves into an extended parade lap.

Haas doesn't do the development academy thing. As they are basically the Ferrari B team, their academy is where drivers would come from but Ferrari has no one ready for F1.

That includes Mick.

Ferrari actually pays Mick's salary, not Haas.

Pietro Fittipaldi and Antonio Giovinazzi are the reserve/test drivers for Haas

Fittipaldi is Latifi bad.

Giovinazzi would likely be an upgrade. Which is pretty sad.

This really didn't need to be mentioned in this thread.

Shows how much F1 is dependent on team/engineer/money opposed to driver skill

The skill in F1 is being able to drive the horrid cars the engineers put together

But it has now emerged that the initial decision to delay the start of the race was due to a power outage that caused the starting systems to fail on the grid.

Although they had recovered in time for the race to get underway behind the safety car, it was decided that the issues with the lights and panels on the main straight meant there would be no standing restarts during the race.

For being the pinnacle of motorsport it seems like F1 gets caught in some goofy situations.

Sounds like another reason to tell Monaco to piss off.

Terrible racing, lousy TV direction (Even worse than Sky), and now can't even run the lights.

Adios

I get it, but that’s what you get with a rookie driver and I say rookie because Mick was dead last in a shite car all of last year, they were never actually racing anyone except for his own teammate and that is rare. It’s basically his rookie season.

Grosjean deserves another run but in a better car. Maybe Danny Ric gets the bump and Gosjean can take his seat. He has been pretty solid in his rookie season of Indy car.
