Having said that, can we skip Monaco for future seasons?

Well, the contract is up and so far they haven't been able to come to an agreement on a new one. They'll probably work it out in the end but at least there's hope.

and being Monaco.
actually, the qualifying for this race was a clear indicator of their handling superiority. The way the car settles coming out of the turns is tight and efficient.

I said since Bahrain that the car this year looks terrifying.

And I dig it.

Max and Sergio cleared.

Max didn't have a wheel fully across the line.

Also a note that the race director just "cut and paste"'d the instructions and they didn't reflect the 2022 rules.

Guess it has to be mentioned in the F1 thread

Marcus Ericsson just won the Indy 500.

Happy for him. A racing driver that couldn't cut it in F1 just won the Indy 500.

The defensive moves when Pato was attacking were immense.

Was at the race in Texas Motor Speedway this and was pulling for Ericsson.

97 F1 starts and 0 wins for Ericsson. And now an Indy 500 winner. Shows how much F1 is dependent on team/engineer/money opposed to driver skill

Pato wants an F1 drive and he can't even beat Ericsson. /s

Well to be fair, that was some pretty dodgy weaving.

Ericsson has more Indy 500 wins than Alonso and just as many wins in Monaco as Leclerc.

Prettt much on his way to the triple crown.

Going to strongly disagree about LeClerc.

Verstappen is probably slightly better than Leclerc in race craft mostly for just being bolder when it comes to making moves. Sainz and Perez are a wash IMHO.

I have Verstappen with a slight edge over Leclerc and Perez with a slight edge over Sainz.

Thoughts on Mick at this point?

Gunther: With Mick we obviously saw what happened. It’s not very satisfactory having a big crash again. "We need to see how we move forward from here.”

Here's a quote from Haas' Chief Engineer that was in a paper BEFORE the Monaco race. Pretty direct.

quote:

"Imagine not having had Kevin, but Mick and the same driver as last year. So Mick has not scored a point this year or reached Q3. If we had the same driver combination as last year, we as a team would have been P10 with zero points and a best qualification as 12s or something like that. We would have thought ‘oh my god’! We've put so much effort into developing that car, and then we can not even reach Q3. With someone like ‘Kev’, first qualification left without being 100 percent fit, he is in Q3 - and finishes the race as P5. It provides a huge motivation for the team. Him here is actually good" Chief Engineer Haas Ayao Komatsu.
