The Marlins are close to making their second trade of the day, as Ken Rosenthal and Dennis Lin of The Athletic report that they’re finalizing a deal sending right-handed reliever Yimi Garcia to the Astros. The two sides have an agreement in place, pending reviews of the medical records for the players involved, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com adds. MLB Network’s Jon Heyman tweets that Triple-A outfielder Bryan De La Cruz would go back to Miami in the deal.

Jim Bowden of The Athletic says he's hearing a trade sending Trevor Story and Jon Gray to the Mets might happen.

Don’t think I’d give Dom Smith or JD Davis for Gray and Story. Lindor will be back in 3-4 weeks. I don’t see the urgency for Story.

It’s no secret the Padres have been interested in Rangers star Joey Gallo for at least the past few weeks. Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News sheds some light on the teams’ conversations, reporting that San Diego has inquired about Texas’ willingness to acquire Eric Hosmer as part of the deal. If Texas were willing to take on some of Hosmer’s contract, the Friars could potentially make top outfield prospect Robert Hassell III available, according to Grant.

According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, the Brewers are finalizing a deal to acquire Eduardo Escobar from the Diamondbacks.

Reports suggest that the Diamondbacks will be receiving a pair of players in exchange for Escobar, including Brewers prospect Cooper Hummel according to Robert Murray of FanSided. Hummel has played catcher, outfield, and first base this season while hitting .254/.435/.508 in Triple-A
