Bruton Smith’s org sucks.
They really do. They take 1 step forward and 3 steps back REGULARLY. You listen to Dale Jr’s podcast and he’ll have Marcus Smith on occasionally and they’ll talk about reviving Nashville fairgrounds, North Wilkesboro, Rockingham, which are everybody wants, and they used the tire dragon thing with the resin and Nashville this year and it was a great race.
But Bristol dirt was a clusterfrick and they’re about to destroy Atlanta. I mean if you want to experiment, do it with a track that already sucks like Texas or Charlotte. Don’t do it on the best or 2nd best intermediate on the circuit.

I didn't think Bristol was that bad honestly.

Clusterfrick is harsh. I suppose it worked because they had a month’s worth of events across all different series.
But from just a cup series standpoint, I’d like the old Bristol and spend all that money they spent to dirt it and get a start on repurposing shitty surfaces like Wilkesboro or Rockingham into dirt tracks.
I honestly have a lot of grievances with NASCAR these days, but I’m still going to watch if it’s on.

Rumor mill has fired up and I was pretty hesitant to even post this. I’ve heard from more than one person that Richard Childress may be selling off RCR. If Cup isn’t going to give Jr. a price for a charter he can afford, you think maybe he’d invest and take over the helm of RCR?
Any fire to the smoke?

Haven’t heard that one but I did hear that Harvic was buying JTG racing. That would be far fetched as well but what I heard....

I find this hard to believe but Charter prices are going up and maybe it is time to take the money and run. RCR will always have sponsorship from Bass Pro though.
But, with Gordon being the heir apparent at HMS maybe Junior is out. From listening to the download Junior is super tight with money. Very interesting indeed.

Wonder if Jr and Kelly would sell their stakes in JRM to Hendrick in order to finance a buy-in of RCR?
I'd also be curious if they would keep the RCR shop in Welcome, or stay in Mooresville. I don't think the current JRM shop can handle both Cup and Xfinity teams, so they would either have to focus purely on Cup or expand if they wanted to stay there.

If the price is right and I were Junior and Kelley, I would jump on that like flies on shite. And it would be a way to pay tribute to their dad by keeping the Earnhardt name synonymous w/RCR.
I can see this rumor having some legs. Childress will be 76 in September, he still seems in good health so he may just be ready to cash it in.

That’s the most logical scenario for Kelley and Dale to move to Cup.
Brett Griffin said a couple weeks ago on Door Bumper Clear when Ganassi sold that it was a shock because it’s common knowledge that RCR is for sale, but Ganassi was not.

Good rundown to get up to speed. I wasn’t aware that the next gen car was going to put the frame builders at each house out of work. I also didn’t know that all frames will be built by one company.
Why doesn’t the manufactures step up and hire these guys and build the frames for nascar. If the manufacturer doesn’t want to play ball, then get some manufacturers who does want to build the frames for the teams and keep them all with the same stamp. Chevys build Chevys, Fords build Fords, Toyota’s build Toyota’s and just hire the best framers from all the teams.
I just hate to hear that the talents and wit to keep the drivers safe and build a product to go on the track on race day will be of the past and left to the possibility of the whole field bringing a faulty product.

Yep. You won't hear the winning driver and crew chief thanking the fab shop in victory lane anymore.

Sure hope DiBenedetto can get a good ride. You hate to see it. He’s someone you root for and has had some quality finishes is a mid grade ride.

Good for Burton but hope isn’t thrown in the pressure cooker to early .
As far as Matt D , I hope he can land on his feet in either a top Xfinity ride or trucks. He said yesterday in XM that he pretty much wants Cup only. I’d say his options are very limited with that but time will tell.

Cindric also headed to the 2 replacing Brad. Not as much of a shock.
Posted on 7/15/21 at 8:34 am to prostyleoffensetime
Penske also said Cindric is going to the 2. Burton is good but think this is pretty early for him to be in Cup.
Posted on 7/15/21 at 8:34 am to pdubya76
Lost in all this is Cindric officially taking the 2 car next year.
