The Cubs have just been bad recently. They cannot get all the phases to be working at the same time. We're seeing the last few weeks of the Maddon era.

I still find it hard to believe Maddon gets fired even if Cubs lose the wildcard race and miss playoffs.

Oh, he gone. At this point I'd be shocked if he gets a contract extension even if it were for a couple more years. This season and last has really shown a lack of leadership.

Last season they tried to pin it all on Chili Davis. The only difference from last year is they're hitting more home runs but you can't win games solely on the long ball.

Way to go, BrewCrew!

We Cardinal fans appreciate the help.

Or should we thank that fraud, Maddon?

The problem is only one of those guys have any real trade value, and he's been hurt the last 2 years. This offseason is going to be interesting to say the least.

Which is why you might have to deal him asap, he's the only one who can bring in the pieces they need. Some one will over pay for him, especially if they can work out a multi deal w/him.

It's time to move on from Maddon. He was the right man at the right time but the kumbaya pajama parties ain't working no more. Lot's of underachieving position players and they just are not being held accountable.

The constant shuffling of the batting order and the terrible management of the pitching staff (see World Series Game 7 as the prime example) have always been his weaknesses but his strength was long term management of the team but I think he's lost that voice.

Now Theo has some culpability too. The 20 re-treads and Tommy John recoverers he signed for the bullpen in the off-season was a constant butt of jokes on Cub sites. A friend of mine would send me the "Who the Fook is that guy" Gif Of MacGregor every time we signed one of those pitchers...and it was a lot.

This could be a really bad series for Cardinals.

Colorado can be a taxing series on arms and bullpen arms especially. Whith meat going tonight, and Meat #2 in game 3, this could be a very taxing series on an already tired bullpen.

Starters, especially meat and meat #2, must give them 6 innings.

Or, get a big lead, or be down enough, that you can use those shite arms like leone and mayers, etc. let the rest of them get some rest.

This is the biggest myth/lie in all of baseball, these cubs overachieved and I’ve been saying this for 3 years, since I saw the year after the WS.

Most consistent pitcher? A crappy 3rd from the White Sox

Most consistent batter? Anthony Rizzo who is the only leftover from the renteria tank years.

This is on Theo, same thing happened in Boston, he struck lightning in a bottle, he’s a below average talent evaluator who thinks his garbage strategy of drafting ZERO pitching works.

He’s garbage and so is our garbage cubs (my friend group up here calls them the “north side poo boys”, hoping it sticks cause it fits nice)

What a slow painful death we are witnessing. Can’t wait for a shake up this offseason. Whatever it may be.

Everybody chasing the wildcard or central lost yesterday except the Brewers, most to crappy teams. I don't think the Phillies or Mets are going to get there, didn't count them.
