The GOAT Fox scoreboard graphics, an ungodly amount of star power (Jeter, Ortiz, A-Rod, Manny, Clemens, Pedro, Rivera, Nomar, Giambi, Soriano, Schilling, Matsui, Mussina, Posada, Damon, Sheffield, Pettitte), the final era before smartphones and widespread social media, brawls on the field, groundskeepers fighting bullpens, and both ALCS's going to Game 7 with multiple extra inning finishes.

Was it the most exciting era in baseball history? I say yes.

Thought the same thing while watching game seven of the 2003 ALCS last night.

Pedro vs. Clemens. Tension and fights. It was damn good baseball.

The Aaron Boone walk off might be the most overrated moment in sports history

They got their shite pushed in by the Cinderella Marlins in the world series

Todd Walker second guy up. Showed he had the highest career average against Clemens at 10-25 .400 and then he promptly singles in that AB.

This was when I was 9-10 years old and will always be what I think about when I think about pro baseball and how it should always be. That rivalry felt bigger than life.

2004-2005 Cards vs Astros were better. Come at me.

Jeff Kent's 2004 NLCS Game 5 walk off

Jim Edmonds game saving catch in game 7

Pujols game 5 NLCS home run

Zimmer charged him and Pedro barely tossed him to the ground. You make it sound like he pulled out a shank on him.

Damn I miss those days. Every sport needs a rivalry like that.

Todd Walker

He was a monster in the ‘03 playoffs. His batting average was something like .350, with half his hits being extra bases, and OPS well over 1.

It was unfortunately overshadowed by Yanks-Sox. The following year lacked the pizzazz because, with the exception of Pujols' moon shot off Lidge, it ended with a whimper.

Pedro Martinez beat up the former Red Sox manager that blew a 14 game division lead and made Bucky Dent a household name and nothing happened to him in Fenway Park.

FIFY

The players make too much money and the leagues are too hell bent on ramping down any kind of fun or scrapping.
