I agree, and I am neither Sox nor Yanks fan.
I keep waiting for something current to resemble those days. It was passion and intensity at the highest level.

Astros Yankees ALCS’s for the next 5 years will end up being one of the best postseason matchups ever. Astros aren’t going anywhere will still compete to win the AL every single year

Don’t forget 2003 was when Bartman happened

I hate both teams but will still readily admit that was great baseball and theater.
My "greatest post-season ever" still goes to 1986. Mets-Astros was a classic series, Red Sox down 3 games to 1 and a strike away from elimination to the Angels and Dave Henderson (RIP) homers off of Donnie Moore (also RIP) to keep them alive, then they go back to Boston and the Red Sox beat the shite out of the Angels twice and win the series.
Then the WS goes 7 games and had the Buckner play in game 6. They had the champagne ready in the Sox locker room until that play.

When was that Astros walk off? If it was on a Sunday I remember watching an Astros playoff game in 04 at the Union eating shitty Blimpies with my Tiger Card points or paw points. Whatever the hell they were called.

This...... drama packed the whole way....... 1986 was the best postseason I’ve ever seen.

the final era before smartphones and widespread social media
Why is this relevant to the Sox/yanks rivalry?
I always find it mildly ironic when guys on TD ridicule the use of smartphones and social media, using the medium of a message board.
