They were called for holding zero times and never gave up a sack.

I'm sure they were good, but the no holding calls is complete horseshite considering the Huskers ran the ball over 600 times in 1995.

Isn't it generally true holding calls are more prevalent on passing plays vs run plays? If they didn't throw the ball that much then it would make more sense as to why the outcome was zero.

Also, offensive holding happens on pretty much every play. Refs don't want to call it if they don't have to.

How many snaps do you think the second team ran? And not even the second team had a holding call?

Ridiculous.

Holding usually happens with a strong passing game
Nebraska didn't throw much
Plus majority of running was downhill and they were so much better than the teams they played
That offense wouldn't work today

last year before they had to play Texas. Texas owned them as soon as the big 12 was formed.

Don't know if I should be impressed or questioning the integrity of the refs

I was wondering the same. I would assume so. That said, a triple option team can easily hold, it’s probably just harder for the refs to see.

They had maybe one. I say maybe because Ahman Green’s career was pretty good but not Pro Football HOF good

That may be why they were a great team. Less ego, more team first thinking.

One of the early Big 12 Championship games between TX and NB was a classic. Think it was the 96 game.
