I was hoping for Choi or Day to win before this.

I really hope Woods storms back after getting anally reamed by a flagstick on a perfect shot and the ensuing outrage from tigerdroppings.

he thought it was within the rules to back up, which makes him qualify for the 2 stroke penalty instead of being DQ'd under the new TV rule

Ignorance is no excuse. He should have asked a rules official if he didn't know. He didn't. The new tv rule is for infractions such as hitting a leaf in the back swing.

Not for when a player intentionally takes a drop to gain an advantage that he did. He signed an incorrect scorecard. Period.

Nobody gives a shite about rules anymore. It's not about rules.

Feherty says this isn't a rule change, it's a lesser known interpretation of a rule that very few people know. Interesting take.

I think he talked about it thinking what he did was fine and not wrong. My issue is that apparently Augusta National knew about this and never told him about it. They should have consulted with Tiger right away.

I was wondering how he'd squirm out of yesterday's statement.

Agree, but he will fade down the stretch.

And lulz at all the Tiger fanboys trying so hard to protect their hero.

Tiger basically got fricked because he is so damn good and popular that everything he does is scrutinized by TV viewers

His tweet was crap. What are you talking about.

Golf is the one sport where players are supposed to govern themselves. It doesn't surprise me that you don't understand this.

If you would read the official statement I posted you'd know they thought he did the right thing initially.

They, AN, are giving Woods the benefit of the doubt.

That's problematic.

A player can't know if they made contact with a leaf and it fell off the tree. He knowingly took a competitive advantage. Period.
