It's also an interesting dynamic in these golf threads that most of the time the "Tiger haters" hardly ever contribute to the thread, besides hating on Tiger. While on the other hand, the majority of Tiger supporters contribute other things to the thread besides Tiger love.

That's what is interesting to me. This situation isn't why the rule (33-7) was created. It was designed to protect players from situations where they couldn't have possibly known that they violated the rules unless reviewed on HD TV. (i.e. ball slightly shifting, lightly grazing sand in a trap)
Tiger SHOULD have known that he violated the rule.
It seems like they've opened up pandoras box with this ruling. I personally don't mind it going forward and it seems like the players are happy about it. They just have to be fair and interpret it the same way for everyone.
