Being that FICO only goes to 850, I doubt it's over 900. It's actually 804.

Yes.

Is diversifying the portfolio with bonds (even though maybe not ideal to do so) still a bad idea?

Not as long as you hedge interest rate risk, or just keep the duration low.

RaisnCane is going to be all over your arse with that duration comment son. Don't bring that tricky math with its dividing and multiplying up in here.

I'm saying bond prices are going to go down in the near future. Buying into the bond market now is buying at the peak of the prices, IMO.

You think interest rates are going up across the board?

Not a bad idea, with that amount of money you could get wholesale prices by the kilo. I'd estimate probably 15 kilos when all is said and done. Then just flip those for about 20 grand each and you're rich as hell. Although, I'm not sure how many local dealers can afford to buy kilos on the reg and then distribute in smaller quantities. Profitable, yes, but you have to have the capital, and your risk of getting caught rises per each transaction/kid you have working for you.

Yep. Rates for everything over 1 year already have gone up since January 1.

Looking for advise on what to do with 250K? Won't need to touch it for 15 to 20 years. TIA

Hire a good financial advisor so you don't have to ask people on the internet what to do with that kind of money!

I have a good advisor, was mainly curious to see what the MT board gurus had to say to see if it meshed.

my advice was straight out of a vanguard advisor's mouth. Invest it, and let it ride out the long term. Always keep the % in balance with what you want balanced to.
