You're assuming that it will be Cackles.
And you also underestimate the number of women that weren't going to vote for Biden, that will now vote just to elect the first woman.
Women are far more in their psychotic feminist mindset than they were 8 years ago when Hillary lost.
If it ends up being Hillary, Newsome, or God Forbid Big Mike who knows.
Right now, Harris is the front-runner simply because no one else has declared and Biden specifically endorsed her. During the 2020 party primary she not only couldn't even win her home state, she failed miserably at the target demo (black females) the party was assuming she would attract. A lot of the conversation around her at the time was that she slept her way into politics. Her performance as VP hasn't lessened any of that as she has a tendency to fall into two categories of responses:
1. Cackles
2. Attempts to speak deeply and authoritatively on a subject she is not prepared for
The party sees this, but right now she's the only option (at least until/unless someone else declares).
The most obvious other choices would be Newsom, Buttigieg or Hillary. I'm purposely not including Michelle because she has stated numerous times that she wants nothing to do with politics.
Right now, the uncertainty is who will be the Democratic candidate, any uncertainty over whether Trump will win or not is more for down the road (after the convention).

Hasn't Newsome backed Kamala? or was that fake?
Also I would die laughing if the Dems trotted out Hillary again.

No idea but I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. Gavin gives me the "used car salesman" vibes, on steroids. As such, I think he sees the way the winds are blowing for this election and he doesn't want to be part of that trainwreck of failure (as well as his own).

She has been out of the public eye for a bit. A while back there were rumors about health issues. For someone like her to quickly fade into the background (out of camera view, but still tossing out a tweet or two), it has to be something worthwhile. Also, if she's listening to her husband (and she should since he actually won, twice), he's probably advising her to not get within 100 miles of being considered a candidate this time around.
This has the feel of 1996 where the GOP offered up Dole as a sacrificial lamb to the powerhouse of the Clinton machine. The failed assassination attempt on Trump (and the fist pump of defiance in the immediate aftermath) pretty much sealed the deal for this election (as long as Trump continues to not overplay his hand).

Even so, I think that people are underestimating the possibility that women that weren't going to Vote Biden will now get caught up in the "Elect the first woman, and a black woman at that"'..
Women were already going for Biden in large numbers. There really isn't that much room to grow there.

Would you vote for her again? Or pass this time?

If you vote for a dem again this cycle you might as well pack your bags and move to China

Harris will reinvigorate the soccer moms but drive away some other segments.
Agree with OP there is more uncertainty in the market as we’ve already seen Trump and Biden as president for 4 years each.

The market has been expecting rate cuts for a long time.
Market has been expecting rate cuts all this year but has been pretty uncertain about the timing of those cuts.
In December 2023, it was 6 cuts in 2024.
Then it was no cuts in 2024.
Then it was a July cut in 2024.
Then it was a December cut in 2024.
Then it was a September Cut and potentially a December cut. The timing of the cut being priced caused the rotation into value as the market became much more certain of a September cut.

Even if you think Trump stills wins (as I do), he definitely has a smaller chance this morning than he did yesterday morning.
Not true. People are voting their pocketbook. Harris was very much a part of policy that got us here. She is not different than Biden to people.

My point isn't about kamala losing. It's about mush brain Biden limping to the finish and getting walloped after looking older and more fragile with each passing day.
Gun to your head you think 2024 Biden is a better candidate than Kamala?

How does a fracking ban and an end to offshore drilling help the economy? Does it spike prices?
