Let me know when SFP has an existential melt about the market. He was spot on in the covid crash

You’re fully invested with no plan to change so what difference does it make. In 10 years you’ll be richer than everybody

Where has Russian been? He usually posts when the TD indicator of "the world is ending" threads have reached the required level.

I don't remember posting about the Covid crash. You mean market crash, right? You mean in spring of 2020 or what?

I think he was sick. If he's not posting about LSU baseball, he's real sick.

I am pretty shocked at yesterday and today so far sell off. Somebody big said F U to the bear market rally that should have occurred for at least a week.

True. I think we are closer to a bottom than most retailers believe.

So many posts about the market crashing and impending doom is a good fear indicator. The market has been selling all year and now they're calling for a crash.

I definitely don't know when we will bottom or how close we currently are to the bottom. I do know whenever we do hit the bottom most people will still think we have more to drop.

Demand is finally relaxing based on retail numbers we are seeing and guidance. That is a start to tackling inflation. It is also likely to lead to a growth problem or a recession.

This anecdotal evidence you are using just shows many in this market have not dealt with longer term downturns before when they had significant money in the market. This is the first time that has happened for a lot of investors. It does not show a beginning of the end in my opinion.

I see these message boards and blogs as relevant in the same way as the old axiom about cocktail parties. Buy when no one wants to talk about buying stocks and selling when everyone wants to talk about buying stocks.

Lately the vibe has been about selling and finding a bottom .
It hasn’t hit the “avoid stocks” level so conversational tea leaves indicate that perhaps more bloodletting to be done

I've noticed that he's been gone for a while.

Is he like GONE GONE or just taking a break?

no way, the long term implications of inflation, interest rates and oil prices have barely begun.

Nah, we’ve still got a ways to go IMO. I’d rather be a tad late to the rally party than too early.

There's been quite a few threads that have turned into a "where in the world is LSUrussian" threads. I believe the story is, he got temp banned and said something about having cancer around the same time, and then he never posted again. So either he is salty, or he might have passed. I believe he was up there in age as well, mid 60's?

Either way, it's unfortunate; he was an abundance of economic knowledge; and whether or not you agreed with his conservative ways, it's important no matter the issue, to see all viewpoints, all educated non-ignorant viewpoints. If you don't see all viewpoints, there's no way to know if you're actually correct or not. I miss him.

Sure. FB @$230 will turn out to be a good buy IMO. It’s even cheaper now - get you some.
