He’s been thoroughly trained for this conversation. Same as any crook on their first interviews.

He's a sociopath. He's incapable of telling the truth.

What did he just say that required anchor to ask “do your attorneys know you’re speaking?”

Probably the most “interesting” interview that I’ve ever listened to. What really amazes me is how many seasoned VCs got suckered by a child wanting to play office. Seems like the very structure of FTX was a giant red flag.

they're determined to make this story into a Lifetime Original movie instead of an episode of American Greed

FTX was such a shitshow it is going to take a long time to put the case together. Added complication is that he in the Bahamas and not the USA, so he would need to be extradited

Yeah. Zero doubt the feds have enough to start charging but this fiasco isn't one in which they'd piecemeal charges. This is an industry-changer, the investigations are going to be as thorough as possible, they'll build their usual completely airtight cases for charges, and then they're nailing people to the wall

His (and many others') arse is grass, the process just needs time to run its course.

SBF may like that if it means not having to ever see Caroline Ellison again.

SBF should have listened to his lawyers, guy is a moron and thinks he can talk his way out of this. Coffeezilla got him to admit to fraud on an interview now.

Nothing to do with this particular interview, but I just saw this while reading a story about Bankman-Fried floating the idea that he might buy Robinhood prior to FTX’s implosion.

quote:

Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev told CNBC on Dec. 6 that he was unclear what Bankman-Fried is going to do with his 7.6% stake in his trading app.

Is that 7.6% stake held by FTX/Alameda or SBF personally? I know that FTX is bankrupt (or parts of it), but Bankman-Fried hasn’t declared bankruptcy anywhere, has he? So anyway, just curious if anyone knows if Slick has a stake in Robinhood tucked away in his back pocket… as he pleads poverty???

And as a side note, did anyone else catch the Kevin O’Leary interviews where he said that given the opportunity, he’d back Bankman-Fried again?! I’ve heard about people who enjoy getting kicked in the crotch. I guess Mr. Wonderful has a secret fetish that we all now know about.

SBF shrewdly spread the wealth. There are MANY politicians involved. Virtually everyone of them is a Democrat.

The question for this DOJ is how to bring charges while cordoning off its allied political exposure. My sense is THAT is the delay, rather than frets over piecemealed charges.

Pretty sure the robinhood stake is on the FTX balance sheet. It was not personally owned by FTX.. However consider they had no books to go by, maybe he has access to sell it.
