These young kids you are talking about will buy Rolex once they have the means.

Time will tell; but, I’m largely of the same opinion.

Although I do see Rolex’s sales slipping in the near term as the secondary bubble has burst and those padding their incomes by flipping watches exit the scene.

One of the reasons I don't own a Rolex anymore. Selling it in 2021 for a profit was nice too. I've been wearing a Grand Seiko 9F quartz since then and I prefer it. It doesn't die if I don't wear it and batteries are cheap. Plus the champagne dial is sexy. I've read it has a 50 year service interval but could never find that on GS literature

There’s no reason to service a quartz movement; they’re disposable.

I get your point but the Grand Seiko 9F is not a typical quartz

I’m holding out to win the MB&F MAD edition lottery and be able to purchase one. That’s some crazy watches

Does anyone have any insight on how the collectible watch market is doing? I would have thought it was doing well.

I think the cost of service and repair is often overlooked when dealing with luxury watches. I recently sent a spring drive action back to Grand Seiko for cleaning and servicing. You can imagine my shock when the watch returned and I was billed $1,500. The darn thing only cost me $3,500 a decade or more ago when I got it

Same- my wife gave me an Aquaracer for our anniversary 14 years ago. It needed to be serviced, so I dropped it off for an estimate- $1500. It's been worn daily and the buttons both needed to be repaired/rebuilt, but I was more than a little shocked at the price. It's currently not running, so it's not worth anything in it's current state, so I pulled the trigger, but I may think twice about wearing it daily moving forward.

I'm never purchased a luxury watch but I have been eyeing some Breitling's. They are more reasonable in the $6500-9000 range and I really like the designs.

I don’t think you can walk into a new Rolex store and buy anything currently off the shelf.

I’ve been thinking about buying from Bob’s watches. They guarantee their service for a year and as expensive as servicing a watches that’s worth something.

The busters who tried to steal Warren's wealth got laid down for nothing.

I’d rather own a $30k Rolex than a $30k car or boat. Rolex will hold it’s value much better.
Wait. An owner of a $30K Rolex would rather own that than a $30K car or $30K boat ?

What an odd comparison.

Can you point out a person driving a $30K car or boat while wearing a $30K Rolex?

I can do even better than that. My car might be worth $4k or so. My daily Rolex has an msrp of $44k. Cars are awful purchases only outdone by boats.
