Nolamom & MBAstudent, I think the fact that we all felt confident and ended up with low scores points to some type of glitch with the quiz scoring. Dr Knott's can see we're doing excellent in the Moodle quizzes and posts.
I was really pissed when I got the score. It shocks you because you had confidence in your knowledge.

Not planning on retaking. Going to move on to something else. Probably a finance concentration. It will likely be more challenging for me, but at least it will be more useful.

I took the MADM 701 Test 2 last night and I had several problems that I know was not covered in the material. I know this because I read those 2 chapters probably 4 times each and did over 120 practice questions on each chapter. This class would be much more efficient if it did not have either the Test each week or the Discussion each week but its what it is, so I will deal with it! After seeing a few other posts on here about random questions, I hope she looks into it and makes adjustments.

What y'all think of all our assignments on top of the group work for James this week? Sheesh

Holy smokes. We're still not even close to having our first Strategy Brief submitted.

Yea, it seems excessive. But that is the norm for this class.

I am with you! I had some where I thought.. "was this really in our chapters? Did I skip a section?" Lol. I believe she is using a test bank and it's not updated with the new book. I've emailed about a specific question. Maybe that will make her review more of the exam.

I agree I thought there were two questions I don't remember the chaoter ever going in detail about. You don't get to review anything so i can't be 100% sure.

I sent her an email as well, as soon as I got done with the test. Have not got a reply yet.

I believe there were questions on the test that were not covered but I have no way to prove it. I already sent her my feedback on the course. Her rep,y was 'don't be so hard on yourself'.
It appears that her students are taking the course more responsibly than she is.

That's the feedback I received after exam 1. "Cut myself some slack." No, I know my ability to prepare and I know when I fail to prepare well enough. My problem for exam 1 was the breakdown of some material wasn't the same. Not to mention, I had a 94% on Orion, but made a 70 on the exam. I've decided to do the minimum in Orion and study the text over and over.

This is whats so confusing, each week I am in the 90th percentile for orion proficiency. Miss maybe one question on the assignment in wileyplus but then keep making a 78 on the exam. At least I did better on module 2 forum...Still got docked for "story-telling"

I don't get my forum grades back until later in the week. :/

Last week I didn't get mine back until Thursday so I was surprised when I got mine back today.

there's and "average" column now in madm 701....hmmmmm
Posted on 5/22/17 at 8:21 pm to wolfpack714
I just saw that. So I suppose I'm suppose to be satisfied now that the average of 80.2?
Not hardly.

Anyone in MKT run a Simulation round yet? Curious if results are instantaneous or if you have to wait a certain time period to see results.
Posted on 5/22/17 at 8:52 pm to Aurebelman
I'm showing exam 1 was 74 average and exam 2 was 72.

Brent, we did tonight. I'm not gonna lie, I really don't know what I'm looking for in the simulation. There are no errors or warnings, so I assume it was good for the first year. We plan on running the second one tomorrow, and the third one Wednesday. I've got a bad case of "senioritis" right now, just trying to get through this class.
This past weekend was awful. Started working on the brief Saturday at 5a.m. and then had a group meeting at 9a.m. via conference call. Started at 7 a.m. Sunday and studied more than I have for any other class just to pull a 25/30 on the quiz. I'm glad this is week 3, definitely counting down the weeks. One class left after this!

"Cut myself some slack" is stellar advice for someone working hours to achieve a grade that reflects the hours put into studying. If it makes you feel better, I received a 62% on the Module 2 exam after putting in hours of studying everyday on seemingly simple concepts. If the exams were based on Orion style questions, it may be easier to prepare. However, it seems as if you have to memorize the text from the chapter verbatim to receive a grade that correlates with effort. Hopefully the other grades can balance everything out in the course.
