It looks like Amy Wren deleted her stuff from rate my professor website lol. I was in her last session she taught, and they was really saying some bad things about the lady. She was a tough teacher tho!!! i BARELY pass!

Wow, when I had Heller we were working on a strategy paper that ended up being 32 pages in my case, along with all of the other assignments.

I am currently taking MADM760 with Dr. Meeks, he teaches well but has lots of reading and writing not sure about other professors for MADM760.
I am currently in this class with Nathan Heller as the instructor. Tons of reading, only cover 2 chapters per week, weekly quizzes, no tests, discussion almost each week, 2 application assignments (500 word papers on a choice of subjects). First 2 weeks, non-proctored quizzes - now this week it's proctored. Not really sure why. Overall, seems ok so far.

Yea, about that. I forgot to mention that behemoth. It's still there. UGH!

Anyone have any thoughts or feedback on MADM 752 - Small Business and Family Enterprise?
MADM 752 with Knotts wasn't bad and can be paired with another class. I was able to handle the workload with no problems while on a 10-day Hawaii vacation. Enjoyed the vacation. Handled the homework and quizzes later at night or early in the morning before heading out on adventures.

Anyone willing to elaborate on their experience with ISDS 710, MADM 730, and BADM 790 (Process Improvement)? I’m interested in knowing what your thoughts are regarding professors, workload, and overall value of the courses.
Thanks.
LH
Thanks.

I have to say that I wish more of the professors were like Shaughnessy. I actually chuckle sometimes watching his videos because he's such a massive economics nerd, and I mean that in the BEST way possible. He's clearly very passionate about Economics and loves the subject. His passion really comes through and makes it almost enjoyable (the math can get painful if you've been out of school for a while). A professor that loves their subject is important because they want to help others find love for their subject too. That makes for a really good teaching environment. It's a huge difference compared to Lin who appears to basically be on cruise control, or what I've read on these boards about Williams and James. To be fair to the latter two, I haven't taken their courses yet, but the responses on these boards have been damning in regards to their teaching methods.

I've enjoyed his class so far too.
It is constant mental gymnastics, but man does it feel good to get the right answer.
It does begin to get exhausting towards the end of the week.

@WDE251 MADM710 Are you in any of the groups that had to answer this week's discussion questions? (Or are you 'grading' this week).
One of the questions had a ~350 question survey to complete. Mostly 1 question per page that just made it intolerable. I gave up after about 50 questions and just made some stuff up with a couple sources. I'm suffering a lot from just wanting to be done with the program.
This course isn't bad at all with Felice Williams (was worried about her after the reviews I saw). After MKT701 and MADM715 it's really a walk in the park. It's only ~50ish pages of easy text book reading and tests that come straight from the reading.
-----------
Shaughnessy is one of the better professors in the program. He'll do everything to help you with the homework outside of giving you the answer.

Hey! I am grading this week. But it is Saturday morning and still no info on what/how to "grade". And 350 questions?! Oh my!
Q: Did your module 2 assignment grade change? It changed in my favor, but still. Just wondering what that's about.
And agreed that the class really isn't that bad once you got into a rhythm. Not having a discussion post this week makes it even better!

You should get email from Williams sat afternoon to grade discussion posts I believe. Agree with you both that it's not been too bad so far

I think we got the items to grade Saturday evening last week. My mod 2 assignment grade didn't change but it did go missing for about 3 days after being graded. My mod 2 discussion and syllabus quiz are now missing from grade book (the items aren't even listed anymore). Gonna wait until Sunday to email

You ain't lying. I've been out of school for over a decade. Even though I graduated with a business degree, I'm just too rusty. The multimedia quizzes are thankfully easy, the self-assessment still not too bad, but I've just spent about 8 hours on the assignment and final assessment and it's definitely stressful for those seconds after you hit the "Submit" button. I have yet to get 100% on any of the final assessments... I feel like I really would love to get a perfect score but hey... I'm happy when I find out that I didn't bomb it! At least it's making me to actually learn something!
Fortunately, I'm taking ISDS 705 with this and so far it's really been more like a 100 level course. Read and regurgitate worthless trivia and extremely basic/low level/seriously outdated knowledge about computers.

Finished Exam 2 in FIN710 today. Pulling a high A overall, but I have to say, as I near the end of the program as a whole, this has been my hardest class to date just from the complexity of the material. It is very dense with tons of math, which happens to be a strong suit for me. The course is based only on 4 open book exams and there is really no busy work to the class. However, if you don't work through building excel models for everything, you will really struggle on the exams.
Posted on 7/21/18 at 4:25 pm to Marek76
Yup, same here. I'm using all my excel models from 701 for 710 and building ones I don't already have. I can't imagine these exams without excel.

Same here...ISDS is going to be fine...but I have been out of my initial master's degree for twelve years, and while I remember a fair amount of the calculus from high school (granted, it's been over 20 years!), it's still way rusty. I at least understand the concepts...it's just difficult figuring out how to apply everything in the correct order and in the correct context. Will hopefully pull a B, but I'm at a high C at the moment. :( At least I'm learning...that's the important thing.
Graduation requirements are at least a 3.0 with only one C, correct?

Module 2 discussion grades are now posted. And how many pages did your case assignment end up being? Mind was 5.5. But i got dinged in week one for my answers not providing enough detail. But may have gone overboard.
I THOUGHT being a grader this week would be easier...until i opened the pdf of posts and responses.
32 PAGES!!!!!!!!!
And I still have Econ assessment to complete and MADM case assignment.
December can not get here fast enough *sigh*

My Mod 3 Assignment wound up being 11 pages. First 2 were around 7-8 pages and got full credit with them. I just make sure to source course and/or outside content within each response.
I did miss grading points for Discussion 2 as I skimmed through all the readings and graded in about 30 minutes. I would suggest "taking your time" with those if you haven't completed already.

Anyone have any insight on MADM 730?

I just received my acceptance email for LSUS!
I'm unsure on whether I need/should take foundation courses or go ahead and start the core courses. My undergraduate degree was not in business (health services management). A post from two years ago said taking the foundation courses were a waste of time and money. Of course, I would like to finish the program asap, but do not want to fall flat on my face. Is this what you current students would recommend? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
