I took FIN 701 and And MADM 752(entrepreneurship class) together and thought it was a good mix. Fin 701 isn’t to time consuming. Most of his questions come from his study guide, and he host weekly zoom sessions where you can ask questions but do not have to attend. MADM 752 each week you had about 4-5 short answer questions regarding the weekly videos/readings and meet with your group via zoom to put together a PowerPoint,. Takes about 30 min, and then an end of class paper. I felt it was a good pairing as it wasn’t a bunch of busy work.

Is anyone planning to start in January? My application has been submitted along with transcript requests. Hoping to get accepted soon. I'm interested in the MBA with a finance concentration.

For those in ISDS705, who is the prof? I am considering this for spring AP2 and wonder if it'll be the same as you're experiencing right now.

Yeah you both should be fine. Those two courses together were a breeze. Just make sure you reserve enough time for FIN701 and ACCT can be fit in in an hour, just as a previous poster commented.

Multis10 who did you have for MADM 752? That format sounds almost identical to Meeks but i didn't think he taught 752.

Are you sure you're not talking about MADM 751?

I think Multis meant 751, because that is the entrepreneur course offered in the program.

Wanted to ask for some peoples insight.

I am about half way through the program, looking at picking between FIN 710 and FIN 720.

Which of the two would be easier?

Thank you!

720 was much more difficult to me just because of the international exchange rates for the first 2 test. Either way, be prepared to do A LOT of calculations and formula "plug and chug" in both courses.

This is my first term in the program... taking ECON 705 and ISDS 705. Any suggestions on what to take Spring 2018?

I would like to take 2 courses AP1, and then take 1 course AP2. I am going on a trip to New Orleans in mid-March (Sunday-Wednesday) and then I have a wedding in Savannah, GA on Friday of that same week.

I would like a course that doesn't require too much work during the week but also one of the tougher classes to get out of the way since I will only have one course to worry about. Appreciate the input!!

Anyone have feedback on the two required courses for Data Analytics? ISDS 702 and ISDS 710?

Currently enrolling for next term and targeting MKT701 and ACCT701. Might as well bite the bullet and get the most intensive course out of the way now.

I haven't found anything on ISDS 710. I too am doing the Data Analytics concentration so I've been looking around. I think it and the HCAD course are both new offerings, but I could be wrong. As far as ISDS 702 goes, I did some searching on this forum as well as asking others who have taken it in my current courses, and I don't think it will be too bad.

I am contemplating taking MADM 701 with MKT 701 in Spring AP1. From what I've researched on this forum, MADM 701 doesn't seem to be too bad, but MKT 701 is the unknown for me.

Any feedback on the structure of the MKT 701 course? I need to gage if this is crazy or actually feasible.

You didn't look hard enough... both classes suck in regards to the amount of time required. They are the 2 biggest workloads in the program. It's feasible but also very crazy.

Both ACCT and FIN are ideal to pair with another class.

Brent, thanks and I hope that is the case. My one and only term of doubling up will be Spring AP1 with these two.

MADM 701 is a lot of busy work and the work is graded by assistants that are very inconsistent in their grading. MKT-701 with Dr. Darrat was different from Dr. Karen from what I can tell. The 3 quizzes were 25 questions each, and were difficult because they were based on the power-points and the questions did not match most of the content. As result, the professor gave a lot of extra points to compensate. There were 10 forum postings and 4 case studies of 50 points each. It was not too bad, in the end and I ended up with over 100% due to the extra points. My session was confusing because it was the first session using "Free" textbook materials. Neither class is hard at all, just busy work, lots of postings.
