In regard to ISDS 705, if Gibbs is avalaible I recommended him. The class isn’t difficult yet I learned quite a bit of information. It wasn’t open book but the quizzes are a small portion of your grade combined with some weekly excel projects which is where I really got my learning!
MKT 701 with James- test are Proctered Mom open book. The projects like many have stated are a bear, however I found the grading to be fair.
MADM 701- Kungu: personally found the material boring, closed notes and protected. That being said Kungu seems to care about the students and activievly avalaible
Any class with Meeks is awesome and he has his own videos put together to watch from. Group work is also involved
Vines: 4 test of 10 questions. Holds several weekly zoom sessions and willing to answer questions. Really understand his study guide
Hseigh- a tough class but I enjoyed it. The Matieral is his own word document of about 300 pages. Can’t tememeber but don’t think was proctored
ECON with Shaug: one of the better classes although for myself was not my strongpoint. Has videos, quizzes and test. Non proctored

If I remember correctly, it was a little shorter and had to deal with SWOR analysis for ours which I found a little easier. Still repetitive

To give you a little piece of mind, I felt the same way when I took the marketing course. It seemed like I just kept reacting the same thing over and over but I followed the template she gave and received a high A. In my opinion the academic coaches struggle just as much trying to get thru reading all papers to where they are extremely lenient when it comes to grades. Keep up the good work and it will all be over in a couple weeks.
Nope no final exam just the same setup each week. Seemed to be an extremely easy grader and often times the assignments were graded within a couple hours of submitting
I liked Gibbs and thought the class was relatively easy. Each week consist of the following.
1.) answer 10 questions at end of chapter. Just copy and paste from book with page number into excel doc provided(1hr)
2.) 10 question quiz, 10min
3.) excel tutorial- just follow The video
instructions that walk you through the exact assignment(20-45min)
4.) weekly “project” normally something small in excel or research.(1hr)

Depends on what your looking for.. if your looking to check the box and have an MBA for the resume then it’s great. If your looking for an MBA that you want to learn and have professors who are willing to actually teach, id like elsewhere. Meeks and shaugneesy are the only ones who have videos of their own and go out of their way to make it a good learning experience.

What is the link for the podcast your listening to for accounting? I think that’s a great asset

Were the questions pretty basic and allow time to look information up for ACCT 701?

I see most people talking about LIN for 705? But I have James Gibbs? I never saw Lin available. Anyone else in the same boat?
Yeah i took FIN701 with vines as well and did fine. The content of the material really isn't difficult but they way he delivers it by simply listing formula after formula and then pulling numbers from 8 pages up for an example is a pretty bad approach and creates for a bad learning environment.
Im currently sitting at a mid B going into test 3 but now wondering, am i going to pass the class.. been trying to figure out these problems from the practice test and struggling to get anywhere

Turned mine in too.. Hoping for the best as I have no idea if I covered what is needed. Hopefully these coaches are lenient. I had 32 pages and can honestly say Im not sure its what needed to be done.
Now onto Finance 710.....havent even had a chance to look at it :banghead:

Is anything suppose to go under the heading “situation analysis” wasn’t made real clear but everything needed for a situation analysis is answered in all the paragraphs well below this heading? I don’t want to leave out a major portion but it’s not clear. “It just says gather as much as you can and make it up if you can’t find it”

I find it’s 20 pages of mostly the repeated questions. It’s vey repetitive. This paper is overall more of s busy work assignment than a learning application.
Not even close to finishing. The project is rididiclous. From reading the forums on moodle several people have stated the they found quite a bit of info from the pdf she posted. I have looked everywhere and Do not see any pdf. All I see under project resources is links to the corporate website.
He’s very approachable and host plenty of zoom sessions that allow you to ask questions. That being said, I wish the class was a different format. There are 4 tests and total of 168 points for the whole class. No curves, no assignments. It’s self taught via the word document book he has created. If you have a strong interest in finance I would say to take it but be advised that it will require quite a bit of work to thoroughly know the material. I think he’s a good professor but wish there was more video lesssons vs just reading from a book.
Dr. Chengho Hsieh. Currrently taking it
Yes, the test is all multiple choice and T/F questions. For myself a majority of the questions related to the understanding of the text. Certainly need to have a thorough understanding of the material as opposed to just knowing Key Terms.
How did the exam go for you?The FIN 710 exam had hardly any math problems on my exam. This was surprising due to all the problems at the end of chapters. I felt very prepared and once i opened the exam, it was much different than expected. Give me a better understanding of how to prepare for Test 2.
