Anyone here in MADM751 w/ me right now? Wondering if anyone has the "Optional" texts they are able to share. I would prefer to read over watch the videos. Cheers

Just general FYI on James MKT701 project. Don't get me wrong this is probably the most time intensive course I have taken in the program (1 class left to graduate), but I think people are blowing this project out of the water. For future students, there is no reason to hit 20 pages on parts 1 and 2. I did the bare minimum (16 pages on part 1, the exact number of her provided project template and 10 pages on part 2 ) and received 390/400 for the combined project. I think probably people just go way overboard on part 1 and assume they need to do the same on part 2 to receive a similar grade. I figure I spent 10-12 hours on part 1, and maybe 4-6 on part 2. Don't kill yourselves people.

At least the tests have relevant questions that are doable if you read the text. I had a harder time with MADM701 (F Williams) that had test questions on incredibly irrelevant facts. Enjoy your week off everyone!

However, I am substantially into Part Two and it is looking like I am going to have trouble getting even 15 pages. Am I in trouble?

So I am pretty well finished with part 2 and am at only 10 pages. I completed it pretty consistent with how I did part 1 of the project and my grade for that was more than passable. I bet you are just fine at 15 pages. :dunno:

my grade is up, based on what I got doing more than the minimum is not warranted. Makes part 2 seem a little more manageable.

RE MKT701 - The readings were rough just due to their length, the material, like most marketing stuff, isn't groundbreaking. All I do for the readings is read it once, highlight what I think is critical, then re-read just the stuff I hit with the highlighter. She also gave away 3 of the questions as tips in moodle. I didn't do as well on this one as the past couple still got a high B though.

I went pretty minimal for that project, she said you didn't need to answer all of her questions, so I took that at face value and didn't. Mine came in at the same number of pages as her template, so hope that suffices. :dunno:

DarthPasta it is in her reply to a student in the second discussion post of the project forum. Not sure if it says it anywhere else.

That post reads to me like the student is asking specifically about forum assignments, see the question here, "I am curious if any of you know if we should answer the forum assignment questions numerically as...."

I would assume James' response to single spacing to be attributed to the forum, not the project, despite the question being asked in the project forum.

And per the Part 1 template, this language is included on the bottom of page 6 "NOTE: please do NOT change your paper to reflect the margins and single spacing format shown below. Erase this instruction." I think the project is double-spaced folks...

One other note, to give out a detailed 6-page monologue about the project halfway through the allotted time to complete part 1 is pretty lame, I had already written some that now needs to be changed to reflect these new "rules".

So...it is a really bad thing that I haven't even cracked the project yet?? I'm hoping its looks a lot more difficult than it really is because she really overcomplicates everything else.

Honestly, it's not as bad as it first appears, she gives really clear expectations in the template for the paper. The template is 16 pages long if that gives you an idea of how much detail she includes in there.

As of today, James is the only prof for MKT701, it was once before taught by Darrant, and if that ever comes up again jump at the chance. James class is known to have the most work of any other class in the program, currently in it myself and it's my 9th class, I can concur.

She said to focus on the PP and skim the readings but its hard to skim the reading if some of the information from the learning objectives are not in the PP.

Edit - Please ignore, thought you were talking about MKT701, not ACCT701, carry-on

Any early adopters of the MKT701 exam? Curious what to expect.

As someone with 2 classes remaining, I'll say if you have an undergrad in any business related field, do not be nervous, aside for a couple notorious classes, the program is not incredibly difficult. And if you can convince a friend or co-worker to enroll as well, that will make your journey a little more smooth!

I withdrew and got the email confirmation, but I still have access to the class. What's that about?

My first quarter I signed up and dropped a couple classes before the term even started, and still had access to them in Moodle. I had to reach out to IT to get those removed from my moodle. I think its just an oversight by the school.

Sorry to hear you all had trouble with proctor U again, I was in and taking the test within 10 minutes, weird.

I found the same error, email as well, haha. My proctor experience wasnt as bad as some of you describe, 15 mins to get up and running, 25 for the test itself.

Alright people, April 9th is the first day to register for summer classes as you may already know. I have put MKT701 off as long as possible and will be taking it AP1. AP2 will be my 10th and final course, I need to pick from the following:

MKT710 - Darrat
MADM751 - Meeks
MADM710 - Williams
ISDS715 - Hennigan
FIN710 - Hsieh

Any suggestions from this list? Thanks.

For those who have taken classes with group projects, how did they turn out working in this remote environment?

I've only had 1 group project through 7 classes, MADM760 with Meeks. It was honestly not bad at all, the 5 of us got along great, could consistently meet at the same time, got great grades on all our work. I imagine it only takes 1 or 2 bad group members to change all of that, but for me it was fine. We utilize Zoom to have video chats weekly. Plus now I have people I've actually met to bounce course questions off of, besides this forum.

Thrilled to be done with MADM701. Williams must have had a pretty bad grade split to offer 110 extra credit points, but thanks to those my 4.0 should remain intact at least. I gave her a review on RMP, but it appears several others did just this month, and they are accurate. 3 classes left......

Same situation here, hoping for a breather between MADM701 and MKT701.

Haven't heard much from the Williams MADM 701 folks. How is it going?

Well its the same routine every week, 1,000 word assignment, 50 question test, 2 posts in the forum. I have been hit by the same APA point deductions on the assignments, my content is great but I had a title capitalized when I shouldn't have. I'm sorry but give me a break, isn't the content what matters? Test questions can be vague, a lot of "match the 5 theories with a description" type of questions. I am pretty sure I'll be getting my first B, this being my 7th class, so you can imagine my feeling on this course and prof.

she uses highlighting, bold, underlines, combinations of all of those, throughout her emails, syllabus, everything. Makes it hard to read, and completely defeats the purpose of using any of those things.
