Ya think he reads tigerdroppings?

I'm surprised it's open for review immediately after. He trusts people way more than I do.
Hsieh opened it up for review only after everyone took the exam. That's better than this or no review at all.

Not sure lol but I do know that if I had the capability for the class I teach to withhold students from reviewing their exam right after taking it, I would.

I know that some professors and those in administration are aware of this forum because they've discussed it with me.

We definitely need to be mindful of what's said on here. I know someone has posted it before, but this is a public forum so anyone can read what we say. Keeping that in mind, let's continue using it for its intended purpose!

Personally my brain is usually too stressed to spend much time on the exam solutions if they are posted afterwords. It helps me more after I've had a break because then I can re-focus. I think its better for instructors to wait to post solutions, similar to a brick and mortar class when you get your test back a few days later.

As for this forum, Its starting to grow exponentially from when many of us first came on. It has been such a valuable resource for schedule strategy and preparedness but I agree with all of you, we need to keep it in its proper place.

Just took the ACCT exam. Ran out of time. It goes by quick! A few of the ratios I was getting a slightly different number than his due to decimal settings on my calculator. I didn't want to waste time changing my settings! Those all worked out though.

Good luck to those who haven't taken it... it's a very stressful exercise.

I'm satisfied with a B but with just another minute it could have been an A. I knew the answer to the one I was working on when timed out. Just didn't click the answer in time. Frustrating in that regard. Oh well... hopefully he gives us a chance at some extra points.

Anyone read the AirBnb case in MKT yet? I did last night and I have no idea where to start for writing my case study. Any suggestions?

I started the program this fall. I appreciate all the advice that has been provided in this thread so far.

I'm currently in BADM 701 and was wondering if anyone could give me some general advice regarding the quizzes and test(s). My average is high based upon the homework and Learnsmart assignments. However, I'm very concerned that my GPA will tank once the quizzes and test(s) start. I've never taken statistics before (liberal arts background) and I am struggling. Due to the significant workload in this class, its very difficult to find time to finish the required assignments, much less any practice problems.

Douglas White is the professor.

Cheers.

Hey Buck- For our course, and it might be different for you, Professor White took off the Econ textbook for the final so it was just based on stats. Read the book, do all the practice problems on cenage, and you will be fine for the final. This course was the most time consuming by far.... so don't sleep and you will be fine.. I took BADM 701 a few months ago, finished with a 99% so I probably studied TOO much... but I definitely learned a lot!

Buck,

I took this class a year ago but it still sounds like a similar format. If I remember right the assignments, quizzes, and final exam had a lot of similarities. He makes slight changes to the problems so they are not the exact same but he's not trying to stump the students. I used flashcards and took notes of questions that were on the homework and the quizzes and studied them before I took the test. It helped a lot. I squeaked by with an A.

Ashl3y and Winchester, thanks for the quick responses. The course still follows the same format (i.e., the final exam is on the statistics portion of the class only).

Its good to know that this class is the most labor intensive, as I plan on doubling up from here on out and taking six hours per AP session.

One other question on the quizzes: My understanding is that they are un-timed and you two chances on each question. Is it handled like the homework in that you can log in at a later time for the second chance, or do you have to do it in one sitting?

TIA.

I just finished the ACCT exam.

I hustled like hell. Thought I was doing great until it timed out. I made a whopping 57%.

Lowest grade since freshman year in undergrad.

Anyone who made a 100 on that exam should be investigated for cheating. I'm not sure Ambrosio could to it in 40 minutes.

Looks like Ambrosio is adding 50 points to everyone's score.

Beat me to it brent
He said the ratios tripped a lot of people up so far. To me, those were not hard but maybe it's because of my Finance background.

I didn't do bad on those either but I did spend a lot of time on them which hurt me on time for other questions. To me it was just the sheer magnitude of them and the other calculations. As I was taking it I kept thinking "Cool, I'm getting all the calculation problems out of the way early and I'll be able to fly through the assessment type questions soon." but they just never stopped.
If he expects his students to know how to work them that quickly, how about assigning some during the modules leading up to it.

I see where you're coming from with the timing component. Also, depending on how someone may have their decimal places set it could have caused hesitation. Multiply that by the amount of problems and it could set someone back quite a few minutes.

I did well on the calculations. When time ran out, I had answered 14 out of 20 and had got 12 correct.

Honestly, I don't think 50 points is fair. I think he should have adjusted the average to a reasonable number. I'm not sure if that would have helped or hurt me but I think that would have been more appropriate.
