Is it pretty much you need a 4.0 to get it or can it be lower?
I had a 3.80.

Anyone take Finance 730? I have it on my list for fall, but haven't seen too many reviews on it...

vantix, Did you take FIN 701 w/Vines yet? I thought FIN730 was easier. If you took 701 already it's a lot of the same stuff. It's Vines so it's not a time demanding class but you still need to know the material and how to work the problems. I took it with MADM 715 and didn't have any trouble keeping up.

hmm.. I haven't taken Fin 701 yet. In my rotation, I would take Fin 730 in Fall AP2, and then Fin 701 Spring AP 1...
My other choices are MADM 752 or MADM 720 instead of FIN 730. Would one of those be better? I am planning on pairing this elective with ISDS 705.

Haven't taken either of those but you'll be fine taking FIN730 prior to FIN701. It'll make FIN701 that much easier. Everyone is different, but personally, I'll take a Vines elective over anything else in the program.
ISDS 705 and FIN 730 should be a pretty easy pairing time wise. No busy work. Just exams.

FIN 730 in the fall shows that Choi is the professor, not Vines. I was planning on taking it but don't like the uncertainty of a new professor. So thinking of taking MADM 720 instead.

Ahhh... Sorry about that. Didn't know they had someone else. That definitely changes my opinion.

Does anyone have the MADM 720 syllabus they could send me? I am enrolled in MADM 752 for fall AP2 along with ISDS 705 and after reading some of the comments on the course and how it's changed I think I'd rather take something else. jeauxcool@yahoo.com

Jeaux, I'd love a copy of the MADM 720 syllabus as well if someone can send it to us. Email: socal77@gmail.com
I took 752 last term and it was more challenging than I had expected. The class had been redesigned. I still earned an A though. The Mindtap weekly quizzes were the issue.

GSMB16 or anyone else who has had MADM 701: would you say more about your experience in MADM 701? What kind of busywork was assigned? What was the testing like? Who was the instructor? I'm probably going to take it in the fall and am wondering what to expect. I'm concerned with the characterization that it's the most demanding, but since it's a core requirement there's no way to avoid that - I may adjust the timing of when I take it, however. Thanks.

MADM 701 is simply a lot of writing. It's not "hard" in my opinion, just time consuming. It was the 2nd class I took in the program after MKT 701. Those two classes have the most writing requirements. I'm glad I got them out of the way first. I'd recommend the same for you.

I'm taking MKT 701 with ACCT for Fall AP1, or that's the plan. Depends on how different ACCT is now that it's changed. I'll likely take MADM 701 by itself Spring AP1

I took MADM 701 with Williams. Be prepared to write. Tests are proctored through Proctorio, and basically test the highlighted terms from the book.
When it comes to writing, be sure to use 3 external sources, and to cite a few passages from the text itself each week. You'll be fine.

I had MADM 701 with F. Williams. The course is not hard at all just time consuming. You have to write a 1000 word paper each week summarizing what you learned in that weeks chapter by applying it to a current event or a personal professional experience. You do have to have the paper reviewed through TurnItin. You have (2) 20 question "pre-quizzes" a week, a "post quiz" over each chapter, and a 50-60 multiple choice or true/false exam covering that weeks materials. I spent a lot of time on the writing and studying for the exam each week. The quizzes are not so bad. You will definitely read the entire book multiple times over the course of seven weeks. This was all my experience with the course, it was not hard just required effort and discipline. Ended the class with an "A" so the way I approached it worked. It did seem like as the course progressed the test became easier but it might been the fact that your mind gets in a certain way of thinking that makes it easier to digest. I paired this course with MADM 760 and it was a busy and stressful 2 weeks but I survived!!!

How did you get the syllabus for Ambrosio's Fall 2017 ACCT 701 class? I went into moodle and didn't see anything he posted. Thank you!

Hey hannat. From a previous post...

Winchester it was there but now it's gone. I haven't paid either. I don't think it was valid anyway. All the dates were from the Spring and it was based on Cengage text.

I have FIN701 with Vines in Fall AP1. Anybody have any leads on a cheap book option for this course?
