I think Khan might change the format since last semester was his first. I don't like his way of teaching, his exam and test questions are vague and he expected too much for the writing activities. Worst of all, his questions are tricky and he said it was to make students understand more. I regret that I took his class not because of the vague and tricky test questions, I regret because he said that students experience was supposed to be different from the academic world. Whatever they teach us should help us apply the knowledge to the real world, not to trick us and we walk out of the class thinking I just take it to fullfill my MBA requirement. I was a manager for one of the Big Four and our audit papers had to be clear and simple enough that anyone who didn't have any accounting background could understand it. You do not understand your material if you don't know how to explain it in the simplest way. Giving vague and tricky questions is not a good way to teach anyone. Absolutely a waste of my time and money, I learn nothing from this class after 5 weeks. I will definitely review the class with the dean.
I thought it was very difficult and vague. I bombed the activity quiz even after I studied hard.
You need to read the PowerPoint - I am doing fine on the test but he gave me very low grade on the writing part
Yes, you will learn to write code in R and how to use those code for data analytics. The class has no quiz, no exam, just weekly assignments and a project, if you know how to do the assignment, you can easily complete the project. I got 100% for the project. I found it very interesting. I have 14 years of experience in Audit and Finance, they didn't have these modern tools back when I went to college in 2005. It is not an easy class but the professor is super nice and fair. FIN 720 & 710 didn't have good reviews so I took this class, it was actually a very good decision.
Yes, Sung Ik Kim. He is the only professor that teaches the course. I really like it. It's hard but possible to get an A if you work on it. I heard that Hsieh classes are confusing. This one you can apply to work. It is a very interesting class, which I didn't learn from my undergrad school.
I highly recommend FIN 740 for Finance Concentration, the first class in the program that I am able to learn something new. Dr. Kim is very nice and fair.
If you take 3 more accounting classes, you will still have one MBA degree with two concentrations. Why would you do that?

Menace1069 whenever you have a chance, could you please send me a copy of MARKETING 701 with Imran Khan? My email address is trinhh62@lsus.edu Thank you so much!
I am taking ISDS 702 too. It's not too easy like other people said on the forum.

Menace1069 - Are you going to take MKT701 in AP1 & AP2? I also decided to take a chance with him in AP2. I read a lot of reviews for James and Darrat and both are not the best. Hopefully, the class will be ok.
Who should I take for ISDS 702 and ISDS 710? Are these classes difficult? Please advise. Thank you!
Did anyone take FIN730 with Choi before? If so, could you please advise me where to focus for the exam? There are a lot of reading requirements and I don't know where to focus.
Thank you!
Thank you!
robbie022491 & DC213 - Thank you both for your detail reviews! They are much needed for people who have just started the program like me.

I really need your advice on what to study for FIN701 module 4 exam. There are not many calculation problems and the reading guide is confusing with many theories. Do you guys read other materials to prepare for the test?

WhoNeedsSleep Do you need a finance calculator for 710 (Hsieh)? My concentration is Finance too but I tend to delay Hsieh's classes after reading so many comments on this forum.

I got some bad questions on exam 3. It was brutal for me. I thought the last two exams were a lot easier. :(
