I love how people are pretending that stuff like this is impossible when even a decade ago the IRS was going after Tea Party members and websites are being deplatformed for wrong think.

They cancelled 3 credit cards with about $80,000 in combined limit without any warning. I probably owed $10,000 at the time. I paid it off every month in full. Used different cards based on the points I wanted to accumulate. One was a Southwest Airlines Card, one was a Marriott Card and the other points for various uses. I used the Southwest Card the most.

The checking account was cancelled as well and I didn’t use it a lot but used it to pay the credit cards and 2 Heloc’s I still have with Chase.

They didn’t cancel my two Heloc’s. I guess they can’t cancel those as long as I pay them as required. I had 2 brokerage accounts, one an IRA and one a regular brokerage account.

How much more you want to know? My SS number? Chase is practicing discrimination against conservatives is my belief. All I’m trying to say is beware if you care. I love Schwab now. More facts may come out snd hey if Chase wants to cancel me or you that’s their prerogative. You just need to know what you are dealing with in Chase. That’s it, that’s all. Believe what you want..

None of this explains how they canceled you because of your political affiliation.

It’s irrational for the bank to cancel a member in good standing that has numerous lines of business (yet still keep a couple open).

Something is missing here…OP jumps to a political conclusion as though he has an axe to grind. When you called Chase, what did they say?

When a minority experiences something negative and attributes it to racism, gender discrimination, homophobia, etc. conservatives like the OP say they are being ridiculous.

But when something happens to the conservative, it’s a GD biased conspiracy! Muh civil rights!

They did pull out of Donald Trump Jr. event in Missouri that led to the event being cancelled. Missouri politicians ripped Chase pretty harshly about it. Chase is certainly left leaning. I have never had any problems with Chase. I love their services for Southwest and Marriott.

This is fricking hilarious. You believe that they cancelled your accounts because of your political affiliation, yet think they kept some of your other accounts open for... reasons?

My guess is even though he was in good standing with his credit cards with Chase, he did something elsewhere to drop his credit rating and it flagged him as a risk.

Just spitballing

Believe what you want. If you depend on Chase and ever support a conservative cause you better have a back up plan. BTW my credit score never fell below 783. Why would I lie about this? I don’t know why they didn’t cancel my Heloc’s. I may refinance those but it’s a pain and I only owe about $700,000 on them. None of it makes sense. Nobody critiquing me here has offered an explanation. Chase responded they had no obligation to give me a reason. If you care enough go online and look thus up. I’m not the only one. Hey I’m just trying to report what happened to me. I liked my SW and Marriott points. I went Capital one with 2% cash back as my non AMX card. It’s a better deal really as I stay at Hilton’s more anyway. I already had a General Motors cash back Master Card. I buy a new Suburban every 5 years and like to save $3000 when I do.

Sorry if you are too lazy to try and look into this. You lose not me.

The problem is that there is nothing to look into. Roughly half the country is "conservative". I imagine hundreds, if not thousands, of financial accounts get closed every day. By sheer probabilities, roughly half of those are going to be owned by people who are "conservative".

In short, do I think I can find a whole host of "conservatives" whining about having their accounts closed for no reason? Absolutely. Do I think that proves, or is even evidence of, a damned thing? Not even a little bit.

We don't "have an explanation" because you haven't actually put forward any useful information.

Did you pay or keep balances on your other accounts as required or just pay the helocs on time?

Both. I used 2 of the credit cards a fair amount. Most of my 200,000 SW points came from the card. Marriott same. The 3rd one i used sparingly. I might understand cancelling that one. I don’t know what info other folks want from me. I’m just telling you it makes no sense to me other than I was profiled. Maybe Chase needs brownie points with the administration for the next bail out.

I’ m not whining. I’m just reporting what happened. Take it or leave it. It’s just the facts. Every detail I’ve given you is a fact.

I had brought this up back in Feb when it 1st happened. I got a similar response. When I saw the news last week about the Missouri Secretary of State bringing up Chase’s actions I decided to repost. Hey guys, I’m just a regular tax paying patriotic American who thinks we live in the greatest country in the world but unfortunately there are a lot of screwed up things going on right now that defy explanation.

What is the clear basis for why your account cancellation is due to your conservative political beliefs?

Looks like unexplained closures do happen with Chase. However, I doubt it's politics.

Ok. It’s unexplainable. I’m out of this. I’ve reported what happened and I’ll leave it alone. If anyone comes up with a reasonable explanation please advise. None of the “reasons” listed apply to me. Hey Chase reserves the right to do selective business with anybody they choose. That’s their prerogative.
