and how’s that gonna work? What leverage does the US have here?

inflation is out of control
gas prices are skyrocketing as is diesel (which commerce and agriculture actually run on)
Iran is the aggrieved party
Israel is a pariah
the gulf states just want their oil to flow but they are the ones who have to deal with Iran daily, and they didn’t start this shite, we did
Iranian surrogates just overran Yemen and the saudis are now in open conflict with them…and the US just said “tough shite”

It’s a clusterfrick of historical proportions and yet we are supposed to believe that “Iran wants a deal?”

Come the frick on

I assume all banks have already immediately raised loan rates, but will take another week or so to raise interest earned rates. The reverse would be true if the Fed dropped interest rates. Am I right?

What are you a communist? That’s how markets work. If you don’t want to pay their interest rates then don’t borrow from them. If you don’t like the rate they’re going to pay you for your money then don’t give it to them.

Unanimous fed board votes are the norm. That tweet is misleading.

I agree with Trump. It's not a demand issue. It's driven by energy and shortages. Can't fix shortages in supply by raising rates. Can work the opposite. I'm on a bank board and we've already seen loan demand decrease. I guess we'll see.

We haven’t seen 2% inflation in several years. We saw as low as 2.4 a year or two ago and then it went back above 4 and we are currently above 3. That’s after we hit 9 a few years ago. We’ve seen 25+% inflation the last 5 years. I know you’re a moron, but that averages out to above 5% annually. We need to get to 2 or below just to even it out.

It's nowhere near 2%.

Health insurance decreased 37% over the past three years (according to CPI).

So where is it?

And now we trust the BLS data

A rate hike will certainly lower healthcare costs, oil, shelter, lodging away from home and portfolio management fees

Definitely not a communist. Just trying to point out that the banking industry basically colludes without actually colluding as an overall group with interest rates similar to what gas stations do when they react to oil prices going up or down.

Oil prices go up and gas stations are super quick to raise prices, even though many just filled their tanks when oil prices were lower. Oil goes down and gas stations take days, weeks or longer to gradually lower their prices. Gas stations don't talk to each other and actually collude. They just know that that's how they will all react to oil prices because that's the way it has always been.

Banks are exactly the same. Interest earning accounts can expect rising interest rates to struggle taking steep stairs slowly going up but take the elevator going down super fast when interest rates go down. The reverse is true on loans. Banks don't actually collude but they know that as a group they will all naturally react to Fed rate changes in a way that makes them as much profit as possible as long as possible with no regard for their customers.

Now I think you’re making a better argument and great follow up to my reply!
