I'm pretty satisfied with where we're at.
First, just looking at the charts and where we are at from a technical analysis perspective, we are charting pretty damn strong. If you follow our news cycles and the associated climbs, retracements, consolidation, we're doing exceptionally well on this one. The PEA has raised the floor and this sideways trading zone of $10-12 is great. It's been almost a month since the last PR. Usually we would be back in the $8-9 range, but we are 40% higher than that. There is undoubted support and if we keep holding this level then I am in no hurry for news. Let those BB's converge and that gap shrink; it's like steadily loading a spring, and the longer it holds and compresses, the more potential it has when it is finally released. Retail costs bases are only going to be rising at this level, which is a good thing.
Fundamentally, as others have said, nothing has changed for me or the company. I've noted before that my impression from discussing with Mintak in August was that the JV would not be coming until December at the earliest. I wish I'd taken better notes here because I don't really remember my reasoning why
but I think it was mostly around the knowledge that they had to finish the hydraulic balance and work through some permit red tape first. I don't have a ton of experience with this, but I have more than most (having quite literally completed hydraulic balances for brine injection in the Arkansas Smackover formation in the past). It takes a couple months to get people to buy into these numbers, and they just got the data in September.
Finally, I'm all for SLI tapping into that shelf offering and fronting more of the CAPEX to secure a larger share. Heck, they could put up the entire Phase 1 CAPEX and only need to dilute ~10%. If they take more risk up front and possibility become majority interest holder of that JV the 10% MC hit would be a drop in the bucket compared to the NPV gain. Dilution is a beautiful thing when done right.
Still long and strong here. Oh and baby is doing great!

Congrats bro was wondering about the baby. Great to hear all is well.
Yeah I think everyone here firmly believes that SLI's tech is top in the business, and the value of that tech is only going to grow through time as lithium prices continue to go up and EV adoption accelerates. But what if they have the wrong partner (Lanxess) to maximize the use of that tech? I just wish Lanxess would solve their deleveraging issue by selling their brine facilities to Albemarle, then this puppy could really get going. I think if Albemarle owned these facilities and did the JV with Standard that they would start constructing all three plants ASAP.

Unfortunately I don’t think Albemarle wants Lanx brine facilities. If they did, it would be to turn them off and decrease supply.
Alb capacity in their Arkansas plants is way higher; they could turn on additional volume in a few months. They just aren’t running all of their wells because of bromine pricing.
Although, if they were taking it over for the lithium and not the bromine, perhaps that is an endeavor they would pursue. But in that scenario I feel they’d just look at buying Standard out or, at the least, having Standard build out on existing Alb facilities.

Do you think Tetra (TTI) is worth a look if everyone agrees that we are probably looking at some sideways trading with SLI for a little bit?
Posted on 11/8/21 at 12:27 pm to LSUGrad2005
When everyone agrees.. the market disagrees

its worth a look. They are deleveraging and they have 3 built in option plays (SLI, battery tech, carbon capture)

What are thinking for our April ‘22 $12.50c? I’m still up on them, but wondering if I should sell before theta kicks my arse

I’m holding steady. The volume of trading on this is way down and hasn’t been a major sell off, I think it stays relatively flat until we get some news or earnings are released. Seems most investors are in it until we get some type of news, good or bad
ETA well volume is decent now it was really low earlier. Still only half of the average volume though, I don’t think we will see large fluctuations

Of course it nosedives 12 cents a share as soon as I posted that.

It's all good.
I think it'd be foolish to sell with Mintak's rumored interview tomorrow, and with a possible US trip by Lanxess pending this week.
Back in the Spring, most of us were hoping for $9-10 AFTER the JV was finalized, by the End of Year. Now we're all cringing at the thought of seeing 10.99 again.

Yeah not the most visited website, but hopefully they'll ask better questions than Cramer!
But I think we'd all agree, let's just go to the JV and go from there...

Is this cringetak interview gonna make it go up? I think I’m developing an allergy to cat food
