Asked to travel abroad to train replacement

Was asked to travel abroad to train my replacement. I am about as conflicted as possible.
On one hand, feel like I’m being cucked.
On the other hand, I haven’t found another job yet. There are some discussions about creating a new position for me or locking me into a new position. Those conversations aren’t contingent on doing this but it certainly wouldn’t hurt.
. Even if not that, I asked probably 30 people IRL, and even the most bitter work hating, bitter person said absolutely do it, both from a career building perspective and from a get out and gain new life experiences perspective.
I have the feeling I know what people on here will say but I’ll post anyway.

That title is misleading. I thought you were going abroad to replace a train somewhere

You are. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. Easy for me to say I guess, but letting anger/betrayal drive these decisions isn't the way.

It sounds like you are extending g the clock a little bit while looking for a new job.
Instead of time 100% cucking you, you are getting a 10/90 cuck on them.
Milk the clock.
Also, train this new cheaper replacement on the bricks, but you keep the mortar. In other words, teach they/them the ropes only….no pro tips that you learned. They are firing that component too and that knowledge stays with you.
Your competitor is also wanting to hire someone that is worthy enough to train abroad, remember that’s you.

My manager was the one who was supposed to go but she goes every year and is going later this year and is from there so she figured why not give me some “additional leadership.”
And I’m not bitter. I understand it. Doesn’t make me feel better, but not better. Health is my prime concern. Last time i spent more than a weekend out of the country, I caught a miserable disease and almost died. And that was a westernized country…

You’ve got to cut your emotional connection to this job. It’s already dead. Time to move on.
In the meantime do like the others said and use them to bankroll your hunt for the next job.
