Just dumped into my lap and not really needed for anything so what should I invest in? Basically it is just a one time windfall and not something I need to spend so tell me what to buy. Not OT responses please. No hookers and blow. Give me a few stocks.

I've got Apple, Exxon, Monsanto, Microsoft among others and this would just be another long term ride.

I'm in right now on BAC and DRYS. May get in on C. Those are gambles, DRYS more so than BAC and C imo.

I get the impression that some of the euro economy seems to be correcting. I am no expert in the matter. But if it does, I think DRYS will run up. Keep in mind it is based in Greece. My exposure is relatively low.

Always long on XOM (drip).

you're gonna wish you had $25,000 worth of campbell's soup, water, bullets, and seeds when SHTF. I'd start with a custom tinfoil hat,a few gold coins, and then begin stocking your basement its gonna get bad.

Actually with the rate of inflation and likely worse coming, toilet paper and other household items you will use and can store for long periods would be an excellent investment.

Seriously though, a DRIP stands for dividend reinvestment plan. When dividends are paid quarterly, more stock is bought with them, rather than you getting a check in the mail. A lot of the big companies do DRIP stocks.

If I was making a big one time investment, I would put it into a mutual fund or ETF, or otherwise buy Chevron or Exxon stock.

BP will bounce to pre spill value in 3 years, I'm betting. CHK has grown well over the last year. I think it's still a decent bet.
