Yes credit counseling is worse than BK because your credit continues to go bad because the majority of lenders just stretch out the debt. Also, it is usually just a stop gap on the road to BK. If you file Ch7, then you can't file again for 10 years so you have just become a better risk.

I took a 15 year loan, paid it every other week and that will cut it down to 12yrs. 8 mths.
I ended up paying it off in less than 10 years. I didn't go to a bank. A buddy of mine gave me the loan, cost me $250. to get the paperwork done at the lawyers office.

Just curious....Isn't there a statute of limitations on collecting a debt?

Just buy the house, use the house payment money for drugs instead of paying for the house, and then blame Bush when the mortgage goes under. After all, you bought the house when Bush was president, so it was obviously his fault.

Isn't it amazing the help he's gotten on this thread from evil conservatives who want to keep everything for themselves?

I guess if I have a choice between paying someone $600-$800 a month that's going into a black hole, or paying $700 a month that would actually go towards an investment, I'd rather make an investment.

These are the famous last words of a lot of poor people

I'd say if you can't afford the 15 year loan you can't afford the house. This shouldn't even be a question. Paying 600 a month for 360 months as opposed to paying 840 a month for 180 months...

The total cost of the loan is vastly increased. I would say rent until you can save enough to where you can put a down payment large enough to where the 15 year loan is 600 a month.

Was there a point in bumping a year old thread? Anything from last year is outdated considering the revenue I've generated this year.

I got things in order with the student loan people at the start of the year, and I'm very happy with my condo, everything worked out.

Looks like it was done by a really desperate mortgage broker, trolling for any possible business he could find.

First post after your last one from 12/12.

Odd, to say the least.

I don't remember this thread at all. But let me just say that your uber-support for Obama certainly seems to be a 100% contextual fit.
