I hope LSU's marketing team are making him a badass jersey to wear as we speak.

If zion came out in a Pete or Shaq jersey, I don't think I could contain myself

Zion is an awesome guest to get

Why does it matter if the guest picker has a tie to either school?

So you can know who they will pick to feel better?

Shaq must say no to them. He's been at home games when Gameday was in town, I wonder if he contractually can't do it or something. Seems like something he'd love to do

I’d love to see Shaq as well. However there’s too much money in media to allow this.

He is an analyst for a show on a rival network (TNT/Warner Media), and one of the GameDay sponsors is Pizza Hut who is a rival to PapaJohns.

Never happening as long as he is affiliated with those two companies.

If the Tweet was deleted, I am not sure how true this prediction is about Zion.

Why would Zion get booed? That's absurd. Was Drew Brees booed?

Well, at that time, Drew Brees had actually played a game for the Saints, and had firmly entrenched himself as a Louisiana legend, no matter his alma mater or native state, so it definitely isn't the same.

The fact that Zion hasn't played one single game for the Pelicans, showed visible disappointment when New Orleans got the #1 pick, and has zero ties to LSU, doesn't exactly seem exciting, especially for those of us who give zero fricks about the NBA.

Do not like this choice.
Has he ever even played a game in La?
Have any LSU or La. connections other than thru the draft?

100% false

ESPN showed an intentionally misleading clip to gin up controversy.

Multiple clips afterwards of a different angle were shown and told a completely different story.

I wonder what Will Wade thinks of a Duke alum getting prime airtime on LSUs campus. We're trying to become a basketball power. To me this is like if Kyler Murray got drafted by the Saints and they picked him as picker. We're hoping to compete with out of conference schools like Duke. He seems like a great guy and I appreciate his support of his home state teams so far. But he's still a Duke Blue Devil and the goals for LSU under Will Wade is to try and compete with them. So I wish they'd gone with an LSU tie. Oh well, Geaux Tigers.

I love it, as long as he picks LSU... IMO there is no way he wont pick the Tigers.

Is it common for someone who has no connection with the school to be selected? Is Zion going to pretend to have a rooting interest in LSU?

Brees was guest picker in 2009. Almost 4 years after he moved to Louisiana and in the middle of a run to a 13-0 start.

Because that's usually how they do it. Pick an alum or super fan with celeb status who has ties to the school and/or some strong connection.
