ATS says lane and Dave have been taking the last week. No idea on background, but I assume they have connections through Orgeron and other coaches

Further evidence that Lane reads this board.

Hope this doesn't turn out like Bo Pelini 2.0. So much time passed between his first stint and his second, that his defenses didn't work against more modern spread offenses. I think Aranda has been keeping up with the times more tho.

Got downvoted to hell for suggesting but regardless of his position next year analyst for the remainder of season would be great.
Especially on Baylor’s dime.

he gets bumped to full-time DC when Baker takes a head job after this season.
Chris Kiffin remains as Co-DC and will be ready to step up once Aranda becomes a HC again

All the bamers. Paul F included. Hell most of the sports world will wake up to the fact that the beast they thought they killed is back!

If true, this is clearly a move to ensure we have him as DC next year when Baker gets a call from a program.

FYI Baylor is tied with LSU for 2nd in CFB with 34 sacks. They're also 12th in points allowed with 15.3. LSU is 16th with 16.0.
Looks like Aranda still has it as a defensive mind.

Taking a page out of the Saban model. Get him in the building, let him help with self scouting and what not and he could be a valuable asset on this playoff run. And then he can be a potential for bigger things if circumstances change. Maybe even an interim should Baker leave before the playoffs.

Pardon my ignorance, but did Aranda really enjoy his time here personally as well as professionally?
Just curious about his sentiment being here other than the professional benefit.
