If you look a total number of LSU fans it’s a no brainer that numbers would reflect more fans were not actually LSU students/graduates than those that were. You can say that about most large state universities,

Hardest decision I ever made was to go to Tulane instead of LSU. I grew up a Tiger fan. Both my parents went, siblings, cousins, friends, etc. I’ve sat in the same seats in Tiger Stadium since I was 5. Even while I was at Tulane, if I had no classes, I spent more time on and around LSU campus than Tulane’s.

It wasn’t until a decade later that I decided to get my Master’s from LSU. Completely different experience, obviously. But there was 10 year stretch where I was the non-student fan of LSU!

Grew up in La. Moved to Ok junior year. Didn’t get to go to LSU, but here I am, a grad of Ok State, living in Texas, repping my tigers.

Lsu represents the best of our state. You can have many ties to it, not least if which your tax dollars support it.

A LOT less than half full!

No difference between an Alabama Gump and an LSU Pump Lump. (Both cut from the same block of "Not College Material" granite)
and judging by the predominately low grade content of the Rant, I'd say less than 10% on here are LSU/College graduates.

You certainly don't have to be a College Graduate to be a rabid fan, (A la Gumps & Pump Lumps) but if you aint got any "Skins on the Wall" (Alumnus, Sports Alumnus, Band Alumnus) keep your weak alcohol and drug infected arse away from me and out of my fricking space.

Birds of a feather flock together. It's unfortunate, but that's the way the cookie crumbles........

Those same people would be ecstatic if you pulled for their favorite university.

I graduated from Arizona State. LSU has always been my rooted team allegiance. I'm from Louisiana and my Daddy went to LSU. I was at the ASU - LSU game after Katrina screaming for the Tigers

I grew up in Boston. Went to school in Indiana. Since moving southward I have become a mega LSU fan. Attend a couple of football games every year and a boatload of baseball and softball games despite the 300-mile round trip.

Fans can originate anywhere and for any reason.

Don't be a knucklehead and nobody will ever care. The only time it makes you look foolish is if you dress up like LSU superman, paint your house purple and gold, or name your first son Ellis Hugh.

Stadium would be empty if only former students would attend.

My first wife and her sisters all went to LSU. So have most of my nephews and nieces. But the main reason I converted is that I lived in NO & BR for about 12 years and had season tickets to LSU basketball and football. Moved from near Columbus Ohio and left the Buckeyes in the dust.

90% of fans of southern schools never attended school there.

We had a tailgating group of 400 people. Only 4 of them ever went to school there.

My closest friends are die hard fans. None them attended LSU.

Now everywhere else in the country is the opposite. 90 percent of Pac 12 and Big 10 fans are graduates. Games are alumni gatherings .

If being a fan of LSU or any other school requires one to be a graduate or even attended the school, how does that correspond to being a fan of a professional sports team? The only ones I can think of are players for that team or employees of the team. If you root for a team you are a fan. Who gives a shite if they graduated, attended, or drove by the stadium.

It is about the negativity of Louisiana natives living here, going to other I state schools and being Bama fans just because of jealous hate of LSU. Totally obnoxious.

If only alumni are allowed to be fans then these programs wouldn't be profitable. None of us played for the Saints but 90% are born and bred Saints fans. Logic leaves the room when dumbasses enter it.

It’s stupid.

I can assure you the AD’s and athletic departments of these school don’t agree that it should be a barrier. They’d make a fraction of what they make now.

Depends...how much do you give to TAF and/or Bayou Collective? That's far more important than something arbitrary like school attendance
