First of all, I think he actually does give LSU the best chance to win. If he doesn't it's at least close to a coin flip between the two.

Play MVB. If he's not good, then at least we know. If he can win at least two of the next three and the bowl game, then you know what you have for next year.

Maybe MVB is a starter. Maybe he is a career back up. Maybe he's not cut out and we need to revamp the whole room. It would be criminal to not at least find out what we have.

This year is shot. This isn't Purdue. We are playoffs or bust. We've already busted.

OL is so bad you can't find out much about a QB

tbh, i don't know how much you're gonna discover with this shitty offensive coaching staff and this shitty offensive scheme and the shitty offensive play calling.

I can tell you already MVB is not an LSU starting caliber QB at this time. If he wants to stick around and beat someone out as a RS SR, ok. But I need a transfer portal QB for next season.

We're going to go down another topic here, but I don't know what scheme or playcalling you can do with this OL.

I agree that it will be tough to truly discover our QB behind that sieve of a unit, but you have to at least try.

Maybe, but at this time right now, he actually might be. Either way, we need to hit the portal to beef up our QB room with someone who either would or could potentially start next year. Same thing for the RB room even though Berry looks like the starter there.

His accuracy is terrible

Got to buy the best qb in the portal for next year and the best OL

Van Buren has played in 3 games. He can only play in one more game and preserve his redshirt.

But why would he or LSU care about that? Last time LSU went out of their way to preserve a redshirt, we lost the Texas Bowl, got Nuss this year, and Nuss may have inadvertently cost himself money in the NFL. The only positive is that LSU created a new purple and gold legend(Jontre Kirkland),

I felt like it was night and day after he came in. People were critical here but I mean frick, its bama on the road and he hasn’t had many meaningful reps, all things considered I thought he was an improvement

Agreed, I didn't get a warm fuzzy in his quarter and a half the other night but it was his first taste so he gets the benefit of the doubt.

Let's find out what he's got.

Not sure what beating a bad Arkansas team and WKU would mean for next year. That’s pretty low standards to set.

Once the new coach comes in, there is a solid chance our starter next year isn’t even on the roster yet. It’s a benefit to LSU to play Van Buren because of mobility. It allows Nuss to heal physically and at least return to last year’s form before he goes pro. It’s a win win.

the only way you can judge a QB at LSU right now is if he can run sub 10 second 100 yards bc that line can't slow down the rush. The qb has to run for his life.

Because it would give him an extra year in college to earn NIL money. If he’s unlikely to be an NFL player, his best opportunity to earn significant money playing football is in college. Getting to do that over the course of 5 years instead of 4 is not insignificant.
