You have to ask yourself If Orgeron is hired can he maximize talent.

When evaluating the next 5 or 6 weeks, evaluating Orgeron can't just hinge on win loss results. I honest think our Tigers will go 3-2, or 4-1 down the stretch(I Hope). But I will be looking at how the talent on this team is utilized. Miles grossly underutilized the talent on team. If Orgeron can get these guys to play weekend and week out at a high level. I believe he deserves the job. These next 5 weeks are brutal. I think it is kind of unfair to just judge him on wins or loses only. In my book if we hire him and can take Kiffin from little Micky and keep Aranda, I think it is a win-win in my book. It strengthens us and hurts Saban in the long run.

I believe LSU would be crazy not to offer O the job.

It's Herman or bust for me. Give O a team friendly 2 year deal if Herman isn't available. Let's see what he can do. At the very least, he will put together some elite recruiting classes.

If the administration believes that O can bring on Kiffin as an OC then that has to be a high option on the list.

We definitely need to make Herman say no. That said, I wouldn't hate keeping O if that means we can keep Aranda and get a functional OC (could be Ensminger). We really don't need someone to re-invent the wheel with the talent we bring in/would be able to bring in keeping this staff intact.

It's a big risk, in my opinion. I guess it depends who else expresses interest in the job. Yahoo Sports has an article listing five potential replacements for Les Miles. A very impressive list.
Here's one problem judging CEO this season. When he took over as interim, he went after the low hanging fruit. Shorter practices, higher participation, real offensive game plans, a new QB, etc. He can't do that again. Can he do the little things like Saban, for example.

We do not know and it scares me to think about, because Coach O more unproven as a HC than Tom Herman or even PJ Fleck.

This is my line of thought as well. The only issue I have with Orgeron is whether or not could he sustain success year and year out playing in the SEC. I'm not completely sold on him to be able to do that yet.

Just gotta let it play out. I think if O loses 0-1 games to close out, he absolutely gets the job. If he loses 3+, no way he gets the job. If he loses 2 games....then the admin has a REALLY tough decision on their hands that will probably upset parties one way or the other.

I don't think he'll be offered the job, sucks because of his recruiting ability, but whoever is hired will likely clean house, and O might not want to stay anyhow

We won't be pulling elite classes if O only gets a 2 year deal. If he gets the job, it needs to be at least a 4 year deal.

There is no little thing with Saban, it is all about #1 recruiting class every year. If anyone can do it it would be coach O.

Just stop with this Coach O shite please, if he wants to be the HC tell him to build and maintain a G5 program first. Don't test him out at a top tier program just because he's a local guy.

This is pretty spot on. The worst part about the whole deal is there are 3 top/proven coaches Saban, Meyer, and Harbaugh.
We wont get any of those so any hire will be a bit of a gamble outside of Jimbo, who is good, but not elite of the elite like these guys.

It's about more than that and if you can't see it then you are borderline retarded.

If he goes 2-3 or worse then look for someone new
3-2 with losses to A&M or Arkansas or Bama in respectable fashion then interview him if you can't get Herman
4-1 loses to Bama then give him the gig if you can't get Herman
4-1 and beats Bama then give him and Herman both and interview and base your hire off of that
5-0 Offer him the job before Atlanta
So much of it depends on how you win/lose. I.E. Miles win vs Tennessee in '10 was a loss imo.
If he beats everyone and Bama kicks a FG to win it then I'll take that all day. I just don't want our teeth kicked in like last years 3 big games.

Wouldn't that eliminate Herman?
He hasn't had time to build his program and he hasn't reached top 5 level yet.

3 years is common initial coaching contract that won't affect recruiting adversely.
I firmly believe that CEO is doing all the things I want a HC to do. And he's doing them with position coaches (outside of Aranda). The players are responding, the fans are responding, the money will continue to come in. He is good for business regardless of what posters want to think about his qualifications. Everyone can see he is putting the best talent on the field and that they're getting better as a unit. Something we aren't use to seeing.
