So you're saying the reason we should hire Coach O is because

1. He's good at recruiting
2. He's good at motivating
3. He let's other people do the X's and O's for him.

And you're saying that Herman is the go to guy because:
1. He's good at winning with Levine's Players
2. He's good at passing along his herpes to Levine's Players
3. He's good at having better abs than most other coaches

Abs and Herpes do not win championships.

If you think Kiffin is coming to work under CEO in the same position as he has now I got some ocean front property in Tennessee to sell you.

Why don't you bring this topic up in 5 weeks, Orgerons record will speak for itself. IMO, he's in if we win.

One more thought, Trey Quinn & others would not have transferred out, ball would have been thrown to them the way this offense is now, coach knows how to play the game.

The question I have is if we offer the job to Herman or Jimbo, for example, does Coach O leave LSU or would he stay in some capacity?

If we're reduced to hiring an oaf, then we need to pick up the phone and call Bielema. At least Bielema can speak directly and at length about what he knows, as opposed to who he knows, and he isn't entirely dependent upon threadbare cliches to express his more subtle, nuanced insights. At least he's not a desperate, clamoring imbecile.

in all honesty I don't give a darn what coach o did at ole miss. not being funny but I use to smoke pot and sex random girls but now im married and im a family man point is stuff changes. if the man can recruit, if he don't have favorites and he don't have players like dj chark playing the bench ( for the life of me I don't understand how this man just now was able to get playing time)but back to the matter at hand, if he has the team ready to play he has the team upbeat and prepared if he can adjust to the style of play while having an identity as a team and a bad az defense then im all in, the g.o.a.t. that coaches for the patriots once was a miserable coach at Cleveland and the g.o.a.t. of college football that resides in Alabama wasn't what he is at Michigan st. point in all of that is give the man a shot hell if he winning, he recruiting, and the fans are happy, the team happy and players not transferring then im all in good luck coach o! you cant just assume that herman comes in and wins 35 in a row and last I checked jimbo has lost 2 games this yr and I think 2 or 3 last yr and his freshman qb aint no jameis Winston so if coach o goes 3-2 or 4-1 he should have a 85% chance at the job and hell if he beat bama then he has done something our previous coach hasn't done in half a decade and something that has only been done 12 other times in the last 7 yrs at that point the a.d. should bow down and ask him for mercy. drops the mf mic! geaux tigers lol.

I agree. I just hope we do not end up in the same situation as with miles. Miles had to follow Sabin and maybe coach orgeron all has to follow potentially a Tom Herman who may not even get the job. Then everyone is going to say we should've hard tom herman. I hope we can all get behind ceo. I believe he ends up with the hc job

He's already done that if goes 3-2 with the talent we have then give him the job. People think we have some more talent then everyone not name Bama, but if you look at line play we really do not. I've said it over and over Miles let the line recruiting slip and sure as hell missed at the most important position.

3-21 in the SEC when building a team on his own

8-2 when taking over a program someone else built.

Miles grossly underutilized the talent on team

Truer words have never been spoken- another reason I was so happy they fired his arse. We had talent to match Bama year to year, but Les never coached it up or simply was out coached in many games.

There is no little thing with Saban, it is all about #1 recruiting class every year

Saban is a detailed minded workaholic and a very good evaluator of talent.

He gets the best talent because of his reputation.

EVERYTHING: recruiting, hiring staff, game-planning, motivation, in-game strategy and tactics, media/public relations, etc. etc. etc. The permanent coach sets the path for all of this and has to ensure that it's executed.

And what part of this is Coach O not doing?

But it's still Miles' team and staff

Get the frick out of here with that shite. Miles is on the couch and no where near this team. Everyone remaining is doing as Coach O instructs.

I think he can get some of the best coaching talent in the country. He's not just a players coach, but a coach's coach.

Tough call to be sure. I think we'll have the answer to that over the next several weeks - can our guys compete with their peers? How competitive are they?

That said, for the long term, the question on Coach O is only halfway answered by the above. If we're competitive for the rest of the year we'll confirm that Coach O can excel with superior talent in an existing system given an opportunity to tweak that system. Can he sustain it? Can he build and sustain a championship level program? I personally think he will have earned the chance to prove that he can, if he finishes strong (only one more loss, maybe 2). GO COACH O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coach O has already proven one thing to me, and that is that he's not so hard-headed as Les or his predecessor...he has given his staff a lot of power and responsibility for the players under each of them...and then expects them to produce results and holds then to task...this style works well when you have plenty of depth at every position...but Les let LSU down in the recruiting dept., especially on OL, DL, and LBs...not to mention QB...but holes are not too deep; they can be filled mostly in this next class...
