This is not an integrity issue.

It's a personal decision that
is not sinful. It actually could be considered unwise.

And he didn’t play injured in the citrus bowl, and had a competent back up.

He didn’t quit on a playoff team.

By this rationale why should anyone play at all? Why risk permanent paralysis or CTE? Each player has to weigh the risk for himself and decide

If you not a 1st round pick you better get your arse out there and try to be one.

In college footbal you fall into one or two categories

1) I play sports to earn a scholarship to pay for college and earn a degree

2) Im here to make it to the NFL

Bullshite. You don't owe the University any more than they owe you. They're sure not going to look out for you if you get injured in this game and never make the NFL because of it.

Like it or not, LSU (and all other major programs) need these players much more than the players need the school. The University is for sure looking out for its own best interest, I'm surprised that more players haven't started doing the same thing.

Let’s not act like these colleges aren’t making out like bandits having first round nfl talent on their teams for the price of room and board.

Very few teams have first round NFL talent on their rosters

Once you get past the first 10 or so NFL factories it's a crap shoot where some teams have 1 first rounder every few years

I think it comes down to a persons commitment and integrity. Of course kids nowadays are more concerned with money than honor and integrity. They shouldn’t be though. Money will always come and go. Even if u are injured and don’t get to play in the NFL you can always do something with your life. You can’t get integrity back ! You can’t get respect back ! I have no special education or craft but always made decent money - maybe because I’m trustworthy and dependable - unlike those that sit out games like LF7 who is increasingly going downhill.

So let's play this out, using Ed Oliver and Bosa as examples. If you can play just enough games to show yourself, get the high draft pick "guarantee", why bother to play anymore? The NFL is turning college football into a short-term minor league. Get ready for it. Your most valued Tigers will play one and half years max and pull out and wait. It's a way around the three year draft rule.

Not when you're talking about the difference between several million dollars up front

None of these guys are guaranteed to have successful NFL careers. You get the most guaranteed money up front.

A kid out of High School receives an ROTC scholarship for a college education in return for military service. If the country is at war when he or she graduates they don’t get to sit out and they aren’t worried about a torn ACL. They have a chance of getting a bullet to the head.

In my mind a college athlete on scholarship has agreed to provide his athletic services in return for a college education so sitting out a bowl game would be a breach of contract.

I work offshore and have to fly on a helicopter to get to work. There is some inherent danger in that helicopter flight. I can’t say uh no you need to provide a boat for me. I have to nut up and crawl on that helicopter.

Letting kids sit out of bowl games teaches a terrible life lesson.

That's a very good way to look at the life but in reality if you were in the business world you would get eaten alive.

If you don't look out for yourself, no one will. What if you blow your knee out and lose your draft status? The fans don't give a shite. They only want to see you play. That's the selfish part of this.

LOL.

When I think of "Honesty and Integrity", CFB is the second to last thing that would pop up in my mind, with Politicians being the last.

CFB Athletes, especially those in P5 schools, are making their University, conference, and several media outlets FILTHY RICH while they are given every excuse in the world as to why they can't make more money than their scholarship and student job.

They watch as people buy jerseys with their numbers on them, but they get nothing.

If you don't think they aren't aware of what I stated above, as well as the fact that their sport only caters to certain markets/teams, you are sadly mistaken.

Get used to this. As CFB continues to water down its own product by promoting only a few teams, you are going to see more of this:

Guys will play a year, year and a half, get enough reps/game experience to get scouts interested, get a solid understanding of their draft status, then sit out and save their health.

I don't blame them. Honestly, CFB has no one to blame but itself for this.

who is this "CFB" you speak of?

Is it the NCAA? You think they only promote a few teams?

Is the the SEC? Yes, I know the tards on this board think they only promote a few teams, but of course in the last 20 years we've seen the top SEC teams cycle between Florida, LSU, Auburn, Bama, and Georgia, with other teams making it to the SECCG.

Is it TV? Different networks telecast different conferences/teams. So sure, they promote certain conferences/teams more than others, but their criteria is ratings.

So who is "CFB"?
