You are a guaranteed 1st round pick why play in the playoffs

The NFL doesn't care if you dont play, they've seen enough film. Hell, I bet most agents and GM's hope they dont play.
Lets take Alabama for example
Quinnen Williams projected #2 pick
Raekwon Davis projected #12 pick
Deionte Thompson projected #20 pick
Trevon Diggs projected #23 pick
Mack Wilson projected #25 pick
Irv Smith Jr projected #29 pick
The average 1st rounder gets somewhere around 18 million. So 18 million dollars or a gold ring? Psst, I see NC rings for sale on Ebay all the time so IDK you do the math. Bottom line none of these 6 players should play another snap of college football and neither should the other 26 first round picks.
Now on the flip side of that Juniors who are not 1st rounders should always come back because the reward greatly outweighs the risk. Leave early and slide to the 3rd-4th round and get locked into a 3-4 year deal worth around 2.5 a year and the guaranteed money is small. The average life of an NFL career is 3.3 years which means they will probably never sign another contract.
So in conclusion if you have a shot to do it big, do it big.

Scholarship is not a contract.

I like this post.
I love it when some folks start to get it.
You are on the right track, by the way.
You and I just aren't on the same page when it comes to "motivation".

Things have changed homie.
Just look at recruiting versus, say, the 80s. It ain’t Kansas anymore.

Playing for championships greater than meaningless bowl.

ok
18 million dollars > Playing in meaningless playoff game

Since when is a NY6 Bowl meaningless?
What about Universities that have no shot at the playoffs, but still have football programs? By your logic, there’s probably only like 12 universities that should play football to begin with if the only goal is the 4 team playoff. Schools like NC State, or Syracuse should just not play football at all, right?

Meaningless to the player not the university.
What does Greedy gain?

Yes.... the University committed to pay for your education.... And regardless of what some say.... You owe them a commitment in kind....

How is the NY6 bowl game any less meaningful than the Arkansas, Texas A&M and Rice games? LSU didn’t have a shot at the playoffs then, yet He played in those games. So all of a sudden playing in a NY6 Bowl is meaningless? That’s retarded logic.

So what about the kids whose scholarships aren’t renewed. Coaches breaking contracts? Why should the student be held to a different standard?
Posted on 11/29/18 at 8:41 am to Fight4LSU
And he chose to play in those games. What’s your point?

Elephant in the room is "pun intended"? LOL
Of course they don't. People are still living in the fantasy world that CFB is some pure, pristine, unbiased product, when the reality is the exact opposite.
Hell, some conferences, especially the SEC, are making it blatantly obvious what they are doing.
The media entity that owns the sport literally tells you all year long what teams are going to get special treatment.
The safety of the players on certain teams are being compromised to keep the narrative going.
If you don't think the players see this and know this, you aren't paying attention.
Know what you are watching and enjoy it for what it is.
CFB is basically a combo of WWE, Nascar, and NBA. The same 5-10 brands run everything, while everyone else just plays a role to help advance them.
I don't blame the players at all.
PS - I still enjoy the sport. I just know what I'm watching.
