how about if you leave early then once you sign your contract you must pay your college tuition back.

The semester is over. What is there to pay back? The player is no longer getting an education, what is there to pay back?

Sure, if LSU also cuts in all the players who play in the bowl game on the millions of dollars they make for that bowl game.

That's correct. Some guys are also just different and want to win a national championship and assume the risk of getting hurt. After all, that is part of the game

I wish there was some way to do an experiment that would open ya'lls eyes to the realities of CFB.

Take bama, let them win 5 natl champs in a row and never have one player drafted. See how many big-time recruits would go there.

Natl champ are a bonus to these guys. Not the goal. Sure it's easy to say I want to go to bama for the NC, but that's just icing on cake.

This has probably already been addressed in the thread, but the playoffs are different than the bowl games.

When your team can win a championship, you don't bail on them to protect your draft status. And I don't think most high level competitors would consider that.

The playoffs have now made the bowls completely irrelevant and their only real utility is to get the guys coming back practice reps.

I don't think anyone should have a problem with guys who know they are leaving sitting out to avoid injury in a glorified scrimmage.

It's called the college football playoff. Not playoffs, not walmarks, not Burrows, not Chase Daniels.

Correct.

Look at Bosa at OSU this year. Playoff team, potentially. He isn't coming back for that if they make it.

Again, don't blame him, especially after what I saw last year during the championship game. UGA was lucky they didn't lose players due to cheap shots, punches after plays, and obvious face masks in open field that weren't called.

Frick that noise. I'm going pro and getting paid.

False. Its a football game. Nothing more, nothing less.

The NFL 1st round money have made any college football post season play irrelevant for 1st round draft picks.

If you had guaranteed 18 million waiting on you would you risk it for a ring? I wouldnt and anyone that does is foolish.

18 million dollars > Playing in meaningless playoff game

Since when did a chance to play for a national championship become meaningless? Wtf kind of thought process is that?

And what is that? Because some kids make a choice that offends you ALL kids should make the same choice? Only a handful of guys really have opted to skip the bowl, which I’m sorry is mostly meaningless. The playoffs and a NC have more meaning to most people.

It’s ultimately their choice and I think They are interested in playing for an NC. As far as any game of football has meaning, CFP games are meaningful.

The NFL still cares about team players and I think they would see sitting out a playoff game as a small red flag.

None of the players feel this way.

This is a straw man arguement.

Yeah but Alabama players must play. If they do not play in bowl games, they must pay back all money and gifts given to them by the Alabama faithful before they can enter the draft.
