The defense getting mugged is what surprised me. Our offensive effort went more or less like I thought it would. I expected a 10 point win off the defense performance, instead I got an 8 point loss

There are other positives. We ran for 172 yards last night, nearly all after the first quarter. Most of it was vs 5-7 in the box at all times. We rushed for 57 vs a 3-4 man rush last year. Is the OL a finished product- not even close. Are they consistent- also no. But they are already far better than last year’s line and with some further improvement, they can be good. We will be able to run the ball, especially with the QB being a run threat.

Jones is a legit RB1. But Gage needs to be fighting for or losing his job. He was not good last night.

Leavitt isn’t the best QB on earth by a long shot, but he’s also not currently close to what he was healthy at ASU. He’s capable of a lot better than what we’re seeing at the moment. And we saw a couple of flashes of the old him in that scramble and throw for. 3rd down conversion and the long TD throw.

The injuries to Spears and Green were potentially costly through. We REALLY missed Spears. I don’t think Chambliss gets that last TD of the first half if he’s back there in coverage.

Why do people think Ole Miss will regress once Chambliss is gone?

They have the best run collective in college sports. They are very attractive as a school for recruits. They are creating a winning tradition in the new NIL world. It’s a shock to accept, but Pete is clearly a great coach.

In this current landscape, OM is as well positioned as anyone to win. If Indiana can be a power, why can’t OM?

I think based on the transfer portal rankings, people expected 2019. I was even drinking some koolaid after Clemson.

In reality, this was a very good game and experience for this team. There’s so many new pieces. The fact that they came back and brought it within one play to force overtime is pretty awesome.

There’ll be time to go after heads. I want to go on this ride. It’s been 3 games. 3 . I’m going to enjoy football. Last night was the most fun I’ve had watching football in a long time. And I’m seeing so many positives as well as negatives. People jumping off a bridge 3 games in when the game was this close is wild. Wild stuff. But it’s LSU and these are the expectations.

Name the other 4 losses. Show me those 4 programs and I’ll show you all THIER issues.

We will struggle with the mobile QB’s. But it’s not a guarantee we lose.

Make Reed and Russel beat you with their arm.

Make Arch beat you with his legs.

Chambliss can do either and he proved it last year against Georgia and again last night against a good defense. Can those QB’s? We won’t see another QB as talented as him and was 100% the difference in that game. And we are talking about a handful of plays that changed the outcome. Plays I don’t see any other QB on our schedule making.

Not to mention Ole Miss “wanted” that game more. That was their national championship. LSU will continue to get better each week. The offense will continue to gel and their timing will get better.

This team has played 3 games together. THREE! Give them some damn time! 7-5 is a ridiculous over reaction. Calm down man.

Are you fricking serious? This is like asking why we didn’t just reload with the next Daniels or Burrow That’s not how it works. And their entire offense is built around the way he plays. Deuce Kinight is a great athlete and all, but good luck to him filling those shoes.

And if you think they will just go get another guy in the portal- we went after the 2 best available in this cycle and got one. You can never tell what will be available year to year and you will be fighting other teams with as much or more money trying to get them. Ole Myth isn’t Miami. They aren’t going and buying out a guy like Mensah for multiple millions. We even balked at doing that with the QB Williams from Washington.
