Get ready bc our OL still had a lot of blown assignments against Southern. Fortunately they were not big or talented enough to make the tackles in the backfield. Different story with SEC DL and LBs.
Got to improve quickly

True, but if Jones and Hill are good to replace 2 guys then that's an upgrade.

Something has to be done for the running play when the RB is lined up to the left of Daniels and takes the handoff to the right. Everyone slides right leaving the right DE to make the tackle for loss, happened twice against Southern.

There. Twenty-times fewer words with no change in meaning.

Here’s even less: “Go frick yourself.”

Xavier was the starting LG in the Spring in every clip I saw from those practices. I couldn't understand why he had not received any playing time.

Why don't the reporters ask about people like Xavier at the B Kelly press conferences. They must be told that if you bring up X, Y or Z, you will not be called on again.

There are just so many questions they never ask. State run media I guess.

It would first require the media to actually notice something like that. You may be giving them too much credit in that regard.

I think they like Dellinger at LG next to Campbell. I don't think Hill can play C. Frazier hasn't been good at RT.

What happened to the talk last spring on Martinez playing C?

I know that Saban and Pittman wanted him real bad late in the game and he stuck with the hood guys. Was said to be a project but he’s right on time entering year 3 to start bussin heads

I don't think it's a big secret that the offensive line isn't settled yet. We will likely see at least a few more looks before a final starting group and rotation is settled on. It may even be a game to game decision based on the matchup if nothing sticks. Good news is we do have options, even if none are great options, they're at least all serviceable options.

ETA: It's not surprising to be unsettled. We had to remake the entire line with a brand new staff and scheme.

If a couple players were suspended thay doesn't scream alignment to me

Emery and Foucha are seperate situations

Nobody should be academically suspended anymore under the Kelly regime. That shite is so tiresome and continuously hurts us in games. Kelly needs to just move on and set the example early.

100% compliance with team rules, academic requirements, etc is nearly impossible with a large group, especially a large group of teenagers in a college setting. The hope is to be damn near 100% over the course of time. This is year 1 with a new sheriff in town.

Emery Jones ran with the 1st team yesterday. It's only a matter of time.

If EJ stays healthy, he’ll for sure be SEC ALL-FR TEAM. In 2 more years possibly ALL-AMERICAN ….. Such a genuine, funny, and good teammate he was at CHS

Hill was supposed to be the honey badger type recruit from his class. Low ranking but hidden gem

According to home page, Hill will be playing at a guard spot which only seems to make sense if Dellinger is going back to C. Bradford/Dellinger are always going to be in the starting 5. Maybe Hill will just back those guys up but if he starts, it can only mean one thing.

The only way this works is letting Delly take his bumps at center. I think they gave up on him far too early. That’s a hard position to play not just getting the snap right ALL the time like you must because even one bad snap can change an entire game, but he’s also the guy that has to make the calls for the rest of the OL. Turner isn’t an SEC starting OL, that’s just clear fact at this point. He’s fought hard to put weight on from the kid that came in at 245 as a freshman but he’s just not a top tier college starter. Better to let Delly use MS State, New Mexico and Auburn to get experience at center so you can start 2 of whoever they like best out of Frazier, Jones and Hill if Jordy is right. Emery Jones is an all SEC level RT so I think it’s wasting his talent a bit at G. Better to let Frazier and Hill fight it out for LG. It’s clear they like Bradford at RG so I don’t see him moving. Shorts just doesn’t look as good as we hoped he would be but he did make a huge jump in competition. I’d rather take my lumps with younger guys with more potential now and reap the rewards later than hope to get by with guys with more experience but clearly aren’t better players than the young guys.

Frazier He was plenty good enough against Southern. I don't know where that like 18 grade from PFF comes from.

He's light years better than Wire and definitely one of our best 5 o-lineman. I think the snap/center issues are preventing us from actually putting our best 5 out there.

PFF's metrics always throws out some random grades for different players from what we see and what they see. I remember T-Bob and Flynn talking about this and they were mentioning PFF grades instead of what they actually saw. Nobody else was mentioning what they actually saw, just PFF grades, which I think is beyond silly.

Seems like when he signed the talk was he'd be put at C. That was the previous staff's plan, anyway, but the OL coach was retained, so maybe that's still the plan.
Ummm, no.
Link to somewhere/anywhere Hill's name was mentioned about playing Center, please.
If anybody from any staff had mentioned Hill playing Center I would have commented on it.

Well, that IS an example, but it is as attenuated as one could be.
