Dave Van Horn is the model of consistency. He has won more college baseball games than any other program since 2018 and yet....

I'll take the ups and downs with the ups ending in National Championships.

No, these people live in a fantasy world where LSU should just replicate the 90s and win a title every other year.

Funny enough, we've done that so far under Jay.

Why can’t we be consistent while winning some nattys along the way?

It’s ok to admit this season is unacceptable without the mental gymnastics of trading nattys for a 9-18 SEC record.

Name the program that does this in today’s college baseball environment.

I’ll be waiting a long time for your answer.

It’s fantasy world to expect one of the highest paid coaching staffs and highest paid rosters in all of college baseball at one of the best programs in college baseball to make a playoff field of 64 teams?

It's okay to admit this season is unacceptable while also pointing out our coaching staff is awesome and Jay will get back to building a winner. Acting like the coaches just forgot how to coach is what aggravates people.

I think that is probably a bit of a stretch...as is suggesting the coach who has won 2 NCs in 4 years suddenly (A) forgot how to coach and (b) should be on the "hotseat". However, I get the surprise and frustration from the fans with such a huge drop-off from National Champions to missing the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 15 years and only the 4th time in nearly 40 years.

I agree totally, but to think that CJJ is not the same Coach is ludicrous(not the Atlanta rapper).
This season is horrible but as of today it’s an outlier of his career. If this abysmal season occurs again next year then it’s time to go kookoo on Jay. The portal has been great to LSU in his career here but he definitely whiffed this time. He will reassess and turn this around, he has to. There is nothing you can say that can make him feel any worse. There’s no use slinging any more arrows this season is done. He has to do better, he has to comeback, and he will. There’s not a better Coach out there and you’re lying to yourself if you say it is.

I don't know. A ton of the older portion of the fan base watched what Skip did and think "Well that's just LSU baseball. We're supposed to be that good! No reason to have a down year ever!" Because they stopped going to games from 2002 to 2009.

Then a good portion of the younger base has seen LSU win 2 in the last 3 years and is emotionally weak and can't handle any form of failure.

Then there's a very vocal minority part of the fan base that just doesn't think losing happens in any sport ever and has no clue what they're watching.

A rational fan can look at this season and see that we objectively blew like 8 SEC games and had a team with enough talent to host a regional, but just didn't make the plays, and everything will be fine.

Like if you look at this season objectively, we won one close SEC game. We lost, off the top of my head, 9 (UK, Vandy, OU x2, Tenn, MSU x3, UGA). That just doesn't happen every year.
