If you have a play that you just know is going to work you go for two. If we had that play we ran it to score the TD.
Otherwise, you take the tie and live to play overtime.
How many XP’s have we had blocked in the last 10 years? My guess is 0 or maybe 1. Coaches should never think of an XP as risky.

Yes. Steal it. We didn’t deserve to be in that position anyway.

Under normal circumstances no. But last night….ABSOfrickINGLUTELY.. we were outplayed the entire game and had those frickers on the ropes . Now you’re two yards away from crushing their soul and derailing their season. You gotta go for that ! I said that last night before the extra point though so it’s not just hindsight talking.

Yes
At that point I would have taken my chance for all or nothing. And I said it at the time.

Yes. We were incredibly fortunate to be in that position. Sign from the universe. I’d have gone for the win. Plus I like the message it sends in your first game. Here to win. frick the noise.

Don’t worry we got at least 356 of the worst coaches in football spewing their knowledge on here daily.

Kelly lost two, possibly three games at ND going for two when he should have gone for one. He lost to Northwestern because he went for 2 when up 11. A FG, TD and 2 pt conversion was something I guess he didnt think about. Well he learned - so no way on God's green earth does he go for two there.

Didn't even consider the ST mistakes before saying to those around me "go for 2".
You had been having success on the past 3 drives. You had FSU defense on their heels. They had to be a little demoralized after thinking they had the game put away. And you have had all off-season to practice 2 pt plays.
And you will eventually have to go for 2 if you go long enough in OT.

Absolutely go for the win. What’s to lose? We should’ve lost the game but got a gift. No way we beat them in overtime.

Yes I would go for 2. If you don’t get it, at least you tried to win the game. It had nothing to do with the earlier block. This was about seizing the momentum and ending the game in a truly epic fashion.

True the defense got a stop but I would not trust them to stop FSU offense from 25 yards out. Plus FSU on the last series before muffed punt played it extremely cautious.

I don’t mind playing for overtime, but with such a mobile QB, getting three yards for a conversion seems like a given now. I think we would have won in OT or making the 2 point conversion.

BK thought the problem was fixed, so he went for 1.
LSU was looking very good, so it stands to reason to go for 1, tie, then win in OT.

There are viable arguments for both decisions… but no matter what you do, if it doesn’t work you’re going to get shat on for not doing the other.

Kind of dam if you do dam if you don’t.. hindsight is always easier after the fact.. kick the extra point and it’s blocked you lose… fans complain he should have gone for 2…go for 2 and don’t make it, fans complain he should have kicked the XP and forced OT… Lmaooooo
