I'm an 80s kid also.
We should wear G/W/G for every game we possibly can.
The only change we should make is swapping the white jersey for purple when our opponent FORCES US TO.
Non LSU fans should be in an ABSOLUTE STATE OF SHOCK when they see LSU in anything other than G/W/G.
That's how it used to be, and how it should still be.
Now I've heard (if it's true) that we're required by our uniform contract to wear 1-2 alternates a year. If that's the case, we have to abide by that.

That is stupid IMO, myself I would like to wear that combo for one SEC home game. As a show of respect to the teams from 1983-1994 who were forced to wear them at home.

Hell no.
When it comes to LSU sports, all I care about is performance and program development. I also don’t understand why anyone thinks anything else should matter.
That is exactly why I think OP is gay and so is anyone else who gives a shite about “pageantry” issues.

Not only that, but that combination looks really good, it's traditional, and there's no real proof that it's "cursed". In real time we've in fact won ALL of the games played in that uniform, beginning with the Peach Bowl in 2000 vs Georgia Tech!

Always liked that uniform and know it’s blasphemy, but had no problem wearing it at home. Wearing white home and away is lame.

I remember in the UCLA game a couple years ago the gold pants and helmets looked nearly orange! That was probably an effect of the unreal heat that afternoon.

Love the idea but do wish they’d go back to the darker more rich purple color they had for the purple jerseys in the 80s/90s.

The purple of the 1980's-90's LSU purple was the exact same hex code as it is today. The RGB values are 70-29-124, a fairly dark purple with almost twice as much blue as red. The official name of that color is "aubergine".
It's possible the increased lighting in Tiger Stadium nowadays makes it appear lighter

the gold helmet is our trademark imo... we shouldn't stray away from it unless we're doing some sort of throwback like we did for the silent season
