We have a very tough schedule next year. We have to play Alabama, @Auburn (where we have seldom won), @Florida ( if Dan Mullen can beat us with MSU talent he can beat us with Florida talent as well), Georgia (fresh from a SEC championship and a national runner up) and Miami ( in the season opener).

We will also be starting a inexperienced QB, a depleted stable of running backs, a inexperienced WR core, a new O-line coach, a new wide receiver coach as well as a new OC with a very different system.

I say the five losses are almost given ( we will in all likely not be favored in 4-5 of those games), but let us say we lose 1/2 more to say a @Texas A&M, @Arkansas, @MSU (they will be good team).

So we go 6-6 or a 5-7 (God forbid) and Joe Alleva decides to make a change (I am not saying he should, based on one season or he will reverse his decision 2 years ago).

Let us say Aranda's buyout of 7.5 mill (he will have three year's remaining on his contract) plus O's of 5 mill odd, becomes too much for LSU to pay. Alleva and Chancellor F King Alexander decides to install Aranda as HC. Would you be happy with this move?

Because I think this is their play. Otherwise guaranteeing 10 mil over 4 years to a DC, is a bit worrisome. What if the head coach gets fired, you will either be on the hook not only for a large buyout with the HC but also the DC. Which makes the buyout close to 10 mill again.

Also I do not think considering the Chancellor's previous statements, he is in favor of giving a Saban or Jimbo type contract to a head coach. Here is Chancellor Alexander's statements.

quote:

I can’t say that. I’d like to put a cap on all of them, before we’re paying a million a year to a punting coach.

I think this statement is a little more telling

quote:

The board did ask me when I got here, ‘How long would you stay here?’ I said, ‘As long as it takes, to become an assistant football coach.’

In any case even if O goes 5-7 I think we should retain him because
[1] He loves LSU
[2] He talks, walks and thinks like us.

We should not bring in a some coach from the north, pay him 10 mill a year when he does not understand us southerners.

LSU Admin needs to be putting feelers out now for replacement AD’s so if LSU starts the season out very poorly, you dump Alleva with the quickness and hire his replacement as quickly as possible.

This gives you the ability to still fire the Buffoon as well and get in a real coach and not waste another year.

Alleva does not deserve another shot. He’s failed on so many hires it’s unbelievable because of Will Wade, people want to give him another shot. Even is only other good hire was after a debacle and he was bailed out.

He should already be fired for hiring 0 and the mess with canada.

I’ve metioned this before but WW is gonna end up keeping Alleva around. I know someone else brought him here but it was under Allevas watch.

He gets another year in 2019 (his 3rd year) because he only had one full year's class (2018) and he has to deal with mass exodus from this past season plus many juniors leaving this year, and to develop a new QB.

so. Miles fought this for 10 years. He gets ZEREAUX slack. Well, come to think about it, they gave his shrimp boot wearing swamp water drinking arse self enough rope to hang himself.

He did the honorable thing and resigned or killed himself with samurai knife in a ritual over a pile of newspapers about LSU losses.

Sigh...

And out come the ‘Olive Branch’ threads.

“Hey guys, we all know our AD is incompetent and we have yet another really shitty hire but what if...”

A few days after the melt of Orgeron you guys all started doing this shite. It wasn’t long before the fan base kind of moved on past the initial melt and kind-of agreed to give O a shot. He failed. Now; he’s trying to cover up that failure, along with the AD, by trying to put it on Canada and assuring us that “this time, it’s going to be different” eyes fricking roll.

I really hope the fan base doesn’t move on from this shite the way we all did from the Orgeron hire. I don’t want to hear any bullshite ‘what if’ scenarios. We all know ‘what if’ and we all know it ain’t gonna happen. We’ll be 8-4 or worse next season in the same situation.

I don’t want to hear how difficult the schedule is, or how many starters we lose, or that ridiculous fallacy about how Miles left O with no talent (which is a fricking ridiculous statement) O needs to produce results or he and Alleva can GTFO post haste.

I’m not giving this AD and HC a pass or another year to get their act together, and I hope the fan base doesn’t either. Both should have been fired already. BOS are a bunch of pussies.

TL;DR

Would you be ok with Aranda as HC if shite goes sideways next year.

Yeah I would Be. Idk I think he has a lot of what we’re looking for in a coach. Question marks are recruiting and overall team
Leading but honestly if you’re well coaches and well sschemes I dont Think you need to be emotionally high to win every game.
