Brother at halftime I realized they were that much better and I'm a fan. You don't think Coach O didn't just don't want the shutout at tiger stadium at night very embarrassing.

Bingo. It was a cowardly attempt to stop the talks about 0 points like we are seeing today. Is he that dense that he didn’t reaize 3 points doesn’t make those talks go away with the friends and family hiring.

Game was lost when we punted on 4th and 2 on the Bama 42 down only 6-0. We had driven from our own 18 and actually had some momentum. Punting there set the tone for the game and LSU never really threatened again.

But kicking a field goal takes no time off the clock

Then hopefully you recovered the onside kick right then and there and you lost no time the only difference being now three touchdowns would win the game

To not get shut out duh

Not going for it inside the 40 was more troubling than that

I already have in another thread. It's just a matter of math and playing the odds combined with we weren't down 21 we were down 22

Double post to emphasize the point

You double posted to prove how little you know about both football and math?

We were not in the football game. All they were trying to do,is not be shutout. We were not in the football, game after the score at the end of the first half.

You could argue either way myself I think the odds are better taking the three points. Regardless the odds are astronomical doesn't really matter and since college football is a lot about perception why not not get shut out.

That's true. The more I think about it the more I like the decision

I still get a kick out of those that don't want to burn the house down and are thinking logically are now part of an "O clan"??

But now you have to find an extra possession somewhere. That takes more time off the clock.

The odds of what exactly? If you kick the FG you still need three possessions with 10 minutes or so left.

If you go for it you may score a TD and then only need two possessions.

Attempting the FG basically eliminated whatever small mathematical chance you had of winning the game. Only morons would argue against this.

It says a lot about the mentality of the program right now. Not much else to say. We got beat by a clearly better team. Eaux gave up. What difference does it make if you lose 40-0 or 22-3? You try to win. It's just sickening to know that our current regime is not the right group to change the trends. Sigh....

But anyway, 10-2 would be a great year. The sting of this one will subside if we bounce back and finish strong. Just don't see Eaux as the guy to overtake bama. The gap is getting wider it appears

Boxcar, I’m going to make an assumption you didn’t graduate from LSU. And possibly not a high school either.

You have to realize what everyone else did....we were not gonna score a touchdown. A FG was most definitely to put some points on the board so we didn't look like complete fools. That would've capped off our one successful drive. By successful, I mean not 3-and-out

So do you believe the odds of recovering an onside kick are greater than making the first down on 4th and 10 in that situation?

you have to break football down to possessions

we're giving up a possession and still need 3 to win

there wasn't that much time left. it was a -EV move

it signified that O gave up on the game and wanted a moral victory instead to make himself look better
