When we were down by three scores with 10 minutes left, we tried a FG, instead of trying to stay in the football game.

Please explain how that is OK with any tiger fan.

Our head coach was obviously more worried about the final score than he was about winning the game.

I would love to know how any LSU fan can forgive that.

Everyone knows exactly what that was. He was playing to not get embarrassed at that point, not to win. It backfired.

Do you really feel one touchdown would have much mattered though? Going for the TD hadn't really worked all game thus far at that point. Was within reach of a field goal and went for it.

No, but it could've maybe put an end to our pass-less TD since september milestone.

Because 3>0 and it was 4th and 11? After all the shite we saw, your pathetic arse is gonna attack him for trying to at least avoid the shutout, as if doing so was a bad thing? Idiot.

do you melt this much every time a coach does that? It happens pretty frequently.

Did you see the offense last night? Take the fg and accept the beat down. Too bad they straight missed the fg

It mattered because it showed that he quit competing to try and win with 10 minutes still left in the game. If you have a "what difference does it make" attitude then you don't have what it takes to compete on the highest level. You play to win until the game is basically over.

Honest answer: Pretty sure he said in the postgame press conference he wanted the points and was planning an onside kick to follow it.

I'm not the head coach genius. Game was lost before he made that call. Perhaps he wanted something positive to build momentum off of to reduce the deficit. Such as the onside kick that someone else mentioned.

A TD would've made it a 2 score game instead of keeping it a 3 score game, with most of the 4th quarter remaining.

It doesn't matter how unlikely a comeback is, flukier things have happened. You don't concede the game with over 10 minutes left just to make the score look less embarrassing.

K. 2 score game sure. Understand that. But with a tiring defense that did all they could to keep from getting wider.

Only point I was making was end result would not have mattered. And if they would have went for a touchdown and failed instead of points, the only thing that would have been the title of this whiny thread.

What was the score when we attempted the FG? Wasn't it a 16 point lead?

The announcers agreed with the call, btw.

What a clown. A loss in last night's game ends all of LSU's real goals: Conference Champ and Playoff.

A FG at that point does not help LSU in any way...playing for the on-side kick...really?

We have a head coach that is more worried about the optics of a loss than actually trying to win the biggest game LSU has played in in several years.

There are some awfully forgiving LSU fans, when the coach sounds like he is from the swamp.

Oregeron would have kicked a FG if Burrow didnt get intercepted in the endzone as well

It was 22-0, and the announcers did not agree with the call. Gary directly said the math didn't add up there.

I left when o decided to kick a fg. I’m not wasting my time watching if we’re not trying to win. That was more embarrassing than getting shut out. I’m glad he missed bc that’s what we get for being gutless.

Go for the td, and it’s still a 2 score game with 10 minutes left.

I can't really complain about the call.

It would at least negate the argument that we were as bad last night as during the Game That Shall Not Be Mentioned.

I mean, I don't like it, but I don't hate it. I have very little confidence we would have come close to the touchdown.
