that obviously wasn’t injured during the play help with these BS injuries?

It was so obvious yesterday that teams take advantage of it.

if they have to stop the flow of the game for your "injured" arse, then you sit the rest of the series.

As someone said last night, Kiffin begged the NCAA to do something about it (he loves the hurry up) and they wouldn't, so he's just spamming it intentionally to make them look bad.

I think the "stop the game due to injury = can't play the rest of the series" is the most equitable and fair rule.

Yeah there’s no way they’re going to make the refs decide if an injury is legit or not. It will have to apply to every one.

If player goes down, they need to be ineligible for the entire drive

There's a lot of different things that can be done, but ultimately, you have to call it out as fake to separate it from legitimate injuries. The only way to get them to stop may be to a take a one team faking an injury on every single play of the game following the screw job game. Then, just say, "My players were hurt. Who are you to say they weren't, regardless of what it clearly looked like on video." After the 16 hour game, they might do something.

There can be a rule where if a trainer has to enter the field, the player comes out for the drive, or quarter. If you are that hurt that you need medical assistance, it should be serious enough to sit a quarter. Gotta take health seriously. If you get up on your own, whistle doesn't blow. If you blow the whistle for player down, trainers have to come out, and player has to sit out.

The hurt player should not be allowed back on the field until the next series. That would stop much of the faking.

You don’t make it in the referee’s hands. It goes to someone upstairs who can look at it and just buzz down and relay the information to someone on the sideline.

Last night it was so bad that the ESPN announcers showed the DL walking perfectly fine and looking over to get the sign. He then falls down.

If you fall down after a play is over because the offense is lining up to snap a ball you will be charged a timeout and that player must get medical attention until the next series. It’s obvious and other sports have flop rules just fine.

This is the best solution in my opinion. If they have to stop gameplay for you then you need to sit for X number of plays or X minutes for medical eval. It's better for player safety and will also cut down on the shenanigans.

To me, it’s simple. Non-contact “injury” and player must sit out the remainder of the series as those are generally serious or faked.

Injuries with contact (ex. Penn falls on guys foot and takes a rib shot) and he takes the next play off as a precaution.

This bs of guys randomly going down after they get beat and play is over needs a serious consequence.

They need to take away a TO or the opportunity to challenge a play if they see a faked injury.

Just add another official to the box and let him review plays where someone is injured and go from there. He can do it while the staff is attending to the player, so it wouldn’t slow the game down.

Take a quick look and if it’s something noticeable, buzz the head official.

At a minimum.

Maybe a quarter.

I keep seeing people say "series" but "possession" would be better. If the "injured" player's team gets a first down on the next play, can the "injured" go back in? frick that.

Player can go back in next possession, not next series.

If possession is too long for you, perhaps four plays or possession, whichever is shorter.

There has always been a penalty for delaying the game. It doesn’t exactly apply by the rules, but does by name. There is also a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct, which actually does have a broad coverage to apply to this situation.

Throw a damn flag.

If the medical staff has to come out and attend to you, you sit until the ball changes possession

Coaches meet with refs pregame nearly every time to discuss what they want them looking for. Ole Miss has a damn signal to go down. If the offense is out of the huddle, you haven’t gone yet and then decide to lay on the ground, that needs to either be a flag or timeout.

So I agree, call out the bullshite fake injury. Sure, you could just have a simple injury report and if it is probable to return (or cramps), you have to sit for a series. But this is a coaching decision, it’s unsportsmanlike and should be treated as such.
